We have in the past organised days or half days with CAT Driver Training for members (In fact, participation in one of these in 2006 prompted me to become a proper member!).

We think we should try and do this again, so CATDT have provided us with a list of types of events that they organise.

To try and best meet the desires of our members, I've made this a poll of the types for you to vote as to which you might most like to attend. Feel free to add your comments to the topic as well, but please express your interest by voting!

The types of events are:

1) Performance Driver ‘Track’ Day – full day event for 6 people in their own car working in groups of 3 to an instructor. One at a time out on circuit with a total of 1 hours 40 minutes driving time per person.

2) Group Drifting & Over Grip Limit Handling Course – full day event for 4 people with 1 instructor. Mainly using our Caterhams with the option to use your own car for a short session at the end on a wetted circuit.

3) Gymkhana Event – full day for 8 people. There are two instructors and the morning is spent breaking the course into 4 exercises to work on technique. The afternoon is then practice runs with the shoot out at the end. Cars used are our Caterhams, Subaru and your own car as you wish.

Zed - Fest 2012

ZED – FEST 12

Once again I am pleased to announce that the above event will be held at Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Mansfield Lane, Calverton, Notts. NG14 6HP on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10,11 & 12 August 2012. Please note that the date has been brought further forward to avoid the clash with JAE.

For those of you who are new to Sherbrooke there are 22 acres of grassland plus a five acre wood.. There is one clean but basic toilet block with loos, wash basins and showers. There is a modern barn and social centre with outside patio area and picnic benches. Oil drum BBQ’s are freely available.

We will have excellent catering on site. All main meals plus snacks will be available at reasonable cost between 8am and 10pm. There will not be a bar this year. You are encouraged to provide your own drinks (we do request that you try to avoid glass bottles). We will hold an inter club sports competition with some “easy” motoring related sports. Your cars will be on show for the whole event and judging will be held on Sunday lunchtime followed by prizegiving. Fancy dress on Saturday night is optional.

Background music for the entire event will be provided by our very own DJZ complete with lazer and smoke show. There will be dancing on Friday and Saturday nights together with a live band on Saturday night.

There will be an entry fee charged of £15 per person for the event. You can pay at the gate. Camping will be £2.50 per person per night. Caravans & mobile homes admitted at extra charge ( hook-ups are now available). Small children and pets free. Local hotels and B&B’s are available but you are requested to make your own arrangements. Please be aware that the main paddock where you will park up and pitch your tents will be a ‘quiet area’ All gazebos etc for evening gatherings should be set up in the central paddock to avoid undue noise and disturbance.

TRADERS; All club traders are invited to attend. You can set up your own display, big or small for a donation of £20 for the whole event. Come and meet your customers in a friendly convivial atmosphere. It’s good to see the voice on the phone or the finger on the keyboard. If you don’t want to set up a display a gazebo and a banner will suffice just come along and show your customers who you are.

Free car booting for non traders to get rid of those useful parts you no longer need.

Once again I will need the help of volunteers to assist with the smooth running. It is always good to see new faces helping out.

There is still much to plan and new ideas are always welcome. Please mark these dates on your calendar, this will be a weekend to remember. Further information will be circulated as it becomes available.

Mod Day at the Chilli's 10th March 2012

First Mod day of the year. We can do the 10th March, If you are interested post up which day is best for you. Beds available for those who will be travelling down to this one and those who intend to stay and have a few soft drinks in the evening.

First nissansportz meet of 2012

We always try to have a meet early in the year to blow away the cobwebs from Christmas and New Year!

In 2010 it was at the Beaulieu National Motor Museum and for 2011 it was at the Brooklands Museum. We're following this theme for 2012 and are making arrangements to visit the .....

Heritage Motor Centre Motor Museum at Gaydon

Date will be either Saturday 4th of February 2012 and we will meet up from 10:30am onwards.

We will have a designated parking area and normal admission to the museum is £11 (Paid up members will get discounted entry at £5).

The museum also has a pleasant Café so should the weather not be to good (like at Beaulieu!) we have somewhere to shelter - this also means you cant use the fact it is February as an excuse for not attending!

Ok then kids it's here, the next Run2 will be held over the August Bank Holiday weekend and will be on French roads this time.
The format of this next outing will be slightly different from previous events.

First change will be the team with the MOST Points Win!

Your route each day will be given to you, this means you'll know where you're going to (which will be quite nice). However you have to prove that you have gone to each destination by having your photo taken outside a local place of interest. Shortest mileage has been dropped for this event so the roads you take are your choice.

There will also be challenges which are how you earn points. These will take the form of collecting items (shopping list), questions/quiz and other tasks which at present are in the planning stages, plus it is your chance to enter your own personnel challenges in which all the teams will have to complete (these will be submitted to myself before the event just to make sure they are cruel er I mean not too cruel).

Each team will also be issued with a Joker. This can be used when a Team feel their particular item/quiz result etc is the best/highest score and if so will double that score (the joker becomes void if this is not the case).

Accommodation for this will be campsites, so bring a tent, campervan or a Wigwam!!!!

Price for these to be confrmed.

Crossing the channel we are looking at approx £100 for the ferry, that's leaving on the Saturday morning and returning Monday afternoon.

Entrance fee per team for the event will be £50 (this does not include campsites or ferry costs).

Who is up for a meet to swap photography / video tips?

My plan would be to meet somewhere scenic (this might mean a convoy there and some minor detailing first). Then spend a few hours taking photos & videos (with the emphasis on sharing kit and techniques)

Finally, we could end up somewhere to share a few beers over food and eventually pass out before heading for home the following morning.

All we need now is a list of possible venues and some attendees

We intend to do a Secret Santa at the Christmas Party this year. It has always been such a great success at previous Christmas Bashes.

Basically all your names will be put into a hat and then, after a random draw, each party goer will receive by pm, the name of another guest to buy a present for.

2012 nissansportz Road trip?

Guys just a quick one really. Any one fancy a trip to the ring some time next year? Ive been looking at a route for the people like me up north and this looks like a good option? The last leg D to E would be a route there for the people down south? NURBURGRING TRIP ROUTE

This is the girls version of a road trip as its A LOT less driving than the euro tunnel option. The people from down south that this is not the best route for could meet up en-route to the ring? Spend a night or two at the ring and then a fast cruise back to calais for the sutheners or back via zebrugge for the northen lot?

Just post up if you fancy the idea as this is just to get some basic numbers to see if we have enough interest to run a little club trip over there.

Any one who has been before that would like to chime in on routes and places to stop over on the way home for a night then post up! Im thinking a night over in bruges or brussel would be nice?

Would be a great trip!
