Earlier this year, while discussing lapping the Nordschleiffe with the GT-R, Yoda suggested I might like to invest in some flameproof clothing just in case the worst ever happened........

So I'd made up my mind to have a look in GP Racewear when I was next at Silverstone which was today. Of course, before that I met Rob Barff again so I asked his advice and he recommended some specifics and before I knew it we were discussing what an old racer like me could compete in nowadays.

He explained about the license pack, my need for an under stress ECG, then a test at Silverstone. Then I could look for a Rent-a-Drive and off I'd go.

So I applied for the starter pack, arranged to talk to my Doc and then told Cindy what I'd done.......... full of excitement of the prospect of returing to racing since my last outings in the 1970s.........

The reaction was interesting - if a little quiet.........

Ho-hum, watch this space!
