Planning to fit these tommorrow weather permitting:

Posted Image

Which took months to complete, longer than expected ;)

Hoping the intake performs as well as it looks

Will be replacing the spark plugs whilst the plenum is off, and fitting some nice new stainless bolts

If you cant explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

Cor, they look nice Greg. ;)

Are you sick of the sight of wet and dry now?

And what sort of intake is that, because it looks very swish. I'm sure there's a good reason for the narrowing in the middle, but having not had a Zed for a while now I can't think of one. Is it where the MAF goes? And does it need a certain, different, diameter of pipe so as not to throw a CEL?

My Zed's replacement is due a service, and its first MOT, tomorrow. So I've been getting it ready over the last few days, by removing some of my shiny under-bonnet mods, to avoid someone else's dirty fingers other than mine going anywhere near hem, and returning the original bits. I put the oil I want them to put in the engine in the boot today, as well as some new Trico wiper blades I've had for a while for just such an emergency.

The intake is a Takeda Retain (Short Ram) intake from the USA, the MAF sensor does fit the restricted part of the intake hopefully with no CEL! as for performance etc only time will tell ;)

Thanks, a useful bit of info.

From the look of it, as it's an all in one, it looks like they've gone out of their way to accomodate the MAF. I know of one or two other, admittedly non-Zed, examples of SRIs where the diameter of the pipe where the MAF sits is slightly different to OEM, and it throws up CELs. With that marked change in diameter you might be ok.

Good luck though.

really I can give you an idea where to go...

Also we have noticed the HR y pipe is a larger diameter than the DE (276bhp car) and I know where there is one going very cheap.....maybe a few cheap bhp to be had.

Any more feedback Dom after the Uprev reflash? now you had time to spend some time with Fernando?

Todays "mod" will involve changing a blown map light bulb.. Thought about the LED aftermarket replacement below but unsure about horsepower gains - some people say they make no difference..

Yaaay! The resurrection of a great thread. :yess:

Nice one Greg; the stubby aerial in particular is the mark of good modding imo. Yes, it's that easy. :)
