The Zed's O/S/R tyre is going in for a look at a puncture repair tomorrow.  If the puncture is where I think it is, then it's in the main body of the tread, which is ok as far as repairs go.  And the tyre hasn't been run far enough to get hot while going down, which is also good.  So the wheel came off this evening.  Again.

I also tightened up the little bolts on the CG-Lock, and the little rubber strip that runs along the edge of the slider appears to have run away.  Again.  I must have stuck it back on several times over the last few years, but this is the first time it's disappeared.  I'll have a look for it tomorrow in better light, as it can't have gone far, but I did put my hand down the sides of the driver's seat and couldn't feel anything . . ?

The tyre appears to be fixed, which will be a good thing considering the strange portent that appeared at the time.

Anyway, I took the wheel and tyre for a look early this afternoon.  The tyre place was quite busy, so I asked if it was okay if I left the car there for an hour or an hour and a half while I did a couple of things in town while they had a look.  I was told it might take longer, but the car was fine there.

Three quarters of an hour later the phone rang, and it turns out it was done.  I crossed the road to continue what I was doing, and was just admiring a small car that had passed me - until its driver made a complete pig's ear of dealing with a roundabout - when completely out of the blue came the car I traded in for the Zed.  It looked great, sounded great, dealt with the roundabout as if it wasn't there, and the wheels and tyres still looked good and didn't appear to protest being thrown around the roundabout almost like I used to - ie without a flicker from the surrender (brake) lights - it's a good job the phone call didn't come two minutes later, otherwise I'd have been keener to go back.  I hope I see it again, preferably while in the Zed though.

The third monthly coat of wax went on today.  Collinite at the front, and Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid at the rear.  It doesn't half keep you on your toes - the paste goes on with a feather-light touch, whereas the liquid wax seems to finish much more smoothly if you put it on with a trowel.  Not literally, but you get my drift.  I suppose it gets rid of it more quickly. :teeth:

As for the O/S/R tyre, it's still lucking feaking.  I'm going to leave it be for a few days, but if it's still leaking by mid-week I'll have a word with the tyre place and get them to knock the cost of the (apparently failed) repair off a pair of Proxes.
