Nah not really, i'm used to the cold

I managed to do them by dropping the engine belly guard down at the front and getting my arm up behind the bumper. Took about an hour to fit as it was a little tricky. :hrhr:

The zed got a wash the other day and went straight in the garage, so this afternoon I threw a nice fresh coat of dodo juice blue velvet wax on him :)

Ordered 2 x Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas for the rear. They seam to get a better review than the contis which I asked them to get and were delivered today. Oops. Messed the dealer around. But despite him having the continentals in the shop he still suggested that the Vreds where a better option...

nope! I just been and had them fitted, they cost 530 fitted and balanced etc. They are pretty cheap looking on Oponeo.com but this is a place based in Poland, and I lost my bottle. I think they're only 185 each on there.

Initial reactions seem pretty good. tyre noise is down, grip levels are up!

It turns out I still had about a mm of tread before the legal limit on the Bridgestones, so I brought them home with me, just in case. If anyone sees any CHEAP wheels for the same size as 370 rears, please let me know, as I'd like some wheels that I can put them on for some fun sliding around a track one day!

Also, while I was there, they were kind enough to fit my spacers on the rear, so I have 20mm spacers on the rear now too. looks much nicer!

Yeah thats on my list for future mods, getting the underneath sorted. The zed has been neglected a little in places from previous ownership but i'm going to change that now i'm its owner. :D

The whole system though from the Cat back is a Cobra Sport system www.cobrasport.com . It sounds pretty good now

Yeah it's also an England thing :( very hard to do anything about it with how humid and salty it is most of the year :( I still stare up at cars chassis when i'm under them over here, 20 year old cars are almost pristine :(

Also, you might not be aware, but it's forum rules that you post up vids of any exhaust changes....

Yeah, i've seen their black 350z exhaust vid before, it's a nice sound, but man, they rag the crap outta that car from the moment they start it :( No rasp, good sound and tig welded :)

Out of interest, what is the distance between the start of the y-pipe and the merge point?

Totally agree with you there, it is pretty difficult keeping the cars in top condition with the British climate the way it is

I'll make sure i post some vids up now the system is complete...............well for now anyway :D There is a video of both types on the website aswell ( resonated and non-resonated )

Not sure on the distance as i never measured it, standing them next to each other though there wasn't a great difference, i'll take a look for you tomorrow and post up what i find out. :)

The reason i ask, is based on the following:

Motordyne Engineering

XYZ Pipe:
XYZ the ultimate Y-pipe! For the best sound, power and versatility, look no further. The Motordyne XYZ-Pipe is a high performance Y-pipe unlike any other.
In its development phase many different merge distances and angles were dyno tested. With a range of tested Y merge distances ranging from very close to very far from the engine, and it was found that engine performance was degraded if the Y merge point was too close or too far from the engine. The Motordyne XYZ pipe merges the exhaust gasses at the optimum point.
In the R&D phase of the Motordyne XYZ development it was found that:
10 inches closer than optimum dropped ~20TQ.
18 inches farther than optimum dropped ~10TQ on the dyno and wrecked throttle response.

With several data points analyzed a curve was generated and showed the optimum “Y-pipe” length peaked at 16”.
A 16” long Y-pipe would be a too short of a Y-pipe to fit in the stock location so an extension was added behind it to connect with the midpipe flange. This extention is what created a new opportunity to incorporate a resonator to improve sound quality. It also opened up the opportunity for an add on catalytic convertor. Both of these options become even more advantageous when test pipes are used.

By incorporating a resonator or even a catalytic converter in the XYZ-pipe it allows you to take advantage of the higher power gains available with test pipes without sacrificing the sound quality, power or exhaust smell. And all the extentions (or modules) can be easily and quickly changed out with the supplied V-band clamp.
XYZ is the dyno optimized Y-pipe that offers the best of power, sound and emissions. The Motordyne XYZ is a new evolution of exhaust system design for the Nissan and Infiniti family.
