Some friends think it's a stupid name because the honey monster in the ads is so soft yet the car is not exactly. But it's probably the same for people who own dangerous dogs

It's a great name.
It's slightly self-deprecating, and there's nothing much cooler than that. It's soft, but not too soft, and it's funny to those of us of a certain age.
I don't know about the dangerous dogs though. Your average owner wouldn't have the wit, or strength and confidence of character, to call their personality substitute 'Bungle' or similar.

If I owned a white GT-R I might call it 'White Lightning'.
Admittedly if I owned a white Micra, or Toyota Yaris say, I might call it the same. And if you can laugh at yourself driving something like that, what others think or say won't matter at all.
