Not heard of them before, just listened to that track and they remind me of another band - can't think of their name at the moment and in a rush - it'll come to me later.

Just stumbled on this - song's not brilliant but a great feelgood video that was apparently filmed in one take.

OK Go - This Too Shall Pass.

Another grey day, and so now I'm: Looking For A Kiss

A few years before(!) the Violent Femmes, and more than thirty years before t'Chiefs.

However, mention of the latter has inspired me to break out again another of their peers, and the inspration for their most famous song, when I get home.

And now a change from the Marc Bolan tribute act.

I'll apologise for the video - as it's blooming awful, and would advise skipping the first 45 seconds particularly if you're at work or the kids are around, and also the song doesn't begin until then - but the song is terrific and they were great live: Black Wire - Hard To Love, Easy To Lay:

As for the reference in my previous post, the drummer/songwriter of the Kaiser Chiefs was at an early Black Wire gig in Leeds somewhere around 2003 and things were getting a bit fractious when someone he was with or even he himself - I forget now - said the immortal words: "I predict a riot . . . ", and the rest became a very popular song.

I love driving fast to this, and pretty much most of the '30 Seconds to Mars' stuff (including The Kill), which seem to feature heavily when I drive my Stormboy.... :(

Cor, I'm really liking that Martin, and Stormgirl's too. :)

This thread, and in particular this page, is turning into a real treasure trove, and so I guess I'll have to wheel my big guns out now. Forunately tonight I've been in a mood for The Cribs - a not uncommon event admittedly - and so in my opinion one of last year's finest songs and certainly last year's finest single: Cheat On Me.

Aloha

OK, it's been ages since I posted on here but the Disturbed video made me do it. I've been blown away by a song recently from the best band in the world - The Dillinger Escape Plan. First song off of their upcoming album and tbh I can't wait...

Hope you enjoy...
