3 weeks on and I've heard nothing from Nissan Cardiff about my hatch springs! Just spoke to them and now they're asking for a part number which I have already given them on the 11th Jan. Useless is the word!

just read all the comments and mine does exactly the same thing, thought it was normal, but obviously i need a spring change as well! good to know will be visiting the garage!

Got the same double-press problem on my 5 month old car. Nissan Reading are replacing the lid struts, although they mentioned a known warranty issue on the springs too, so I presume they'll be replaced too. Will report back on whether it solves the problem.

Incidentally this garage wanted £249 for a first service (which is basically an oil change). it takes a whole hour and a half! Would be cheaper to get my lawyer to do it....

Took the car to WLMG Reading last week - it's not the struts but the springs so got the wrong parts! Took the car back today and replacement springs were fitted and seems to have fixed the problem. Next stop Abbey Motorsport next week for a bit of tuning....

Well WLMG at Shepperton are doing the boot springs on friday, just a PITA that i have to trek over there for a 2 min job.

WLMG at shepperton changed the hatch springs for me today under warranty, no fuss job done in minutes. The hatch seems to release further but the real test will come with some colder weather.

Glad it's sorted mate. The new springs are certainly better but still not 100% in cold weather I've found.

What a kind offer

In reality, Nissan should replace them all for free so no one should need them. You might want to keep hold of them for when the cars run out of warranty.

Hi,
took my new baby(!) (60 reg drop head 370) into Ames (Thetford) complained.
New springs arrived, harder.
When fitted, boot could not be closed.
Old ones immediatly refitted.
Left them with complaint.
Called back by dealer, new oleos fitted.
No improvement.
Was told advice from Nissan (Japan) would be sought.
Still waiting.
Must go back and enquire.
Shame really as a very minor niggle on what is an otherwise b****y great car.

Got my car back today, but the engineer had left before I got there. The helpful receptionist told me "We fitted the missing front splitter, ordered and fitted the new rear wing and.... errm, fitted some other things".

I remember mentioning this to the engineer last time I spoke to him, but it never got put on the work order I don't think. And he said he'd never heard of the issue of different parts. But these are the only other "things" I could think they would have fitted. If there any visible difference between them so I can tell if they've been fitted?

An update on whether Nissan have updated the boot springs - I have the GT Edition and would have to say I doubt it

I'm getting this problem virtually every time I open the boot

haven't contacted my dealer yet - but will be doing so

OK - now been in touch with the dealer - his response is that there are no recalls or updates on this from Nissan - however he's willing to "have a look"

I reported mine on the P1, as well as the MP3 port being knackered. Neither got done, but i was told about a punchure that they couldn't fix as thier machine was too small. Useless was the feedback I gave the stealer.

P2 due soon, will be trying the guy's in Ashford, Paul seems to havea good experiance with them
