That does sound a lot.

I bought some plugs at the end of last but then it got cold and I haven't got round to fitting them yet.  I paid £60 for a set of genuine Nissan ones from a Nissan dealer on ebay.

Here are Wessex Nissan in Bristol or Cardiff:

P1: £264.96
P2: £351.00
P3: £420.92

Those prices include VAT and 'free' RAC cover.

Just been quoted £557 for a 6th service including spark plugs.  Mileage now is 55,556.  Guess it is  a P1 and spark plug changes are recommended after 54k miles.  All the same I was horrified.

I've just had (31/7) my 54k service at Norton Way, Letchworth, and it was £494.74

The £557 chap stressed that the high cost was "because titanium spark plugs".

I'm 99.9% sure my plugs were changed...i'll see what it says on the paperwork when I get home

Have you asked other dealers? You could always do yourself quotes from the local dealers using http://www.nissan-af...es/service-care

I bought a set of genuine Nissan spark plugs off a dealer on ebay for £60.  There are other good, branded, alternatives too.

Even if you don't want to tackle the job yourself, you might want to consider buying some and getting your dealer to fit them - or ask them to price match some you've seen elsewhere...

Not quite sure why the plug change is needed.  The engine is running sweet as a nut.

The garage that quoted 557 agreed to do it for £500, so took that.

Just had by 63000 mile P1 service completed by Wessex Nissan in Bristol. As Ste_ac said, it was exactly £264.96.

Also asked them to quote for a clutch, which came to a fraction over £1400!

Ouch!  You'll find a better price for the clutch from our dealers - either to do the whole job or just to supply the parts.

Edit: Oh, and while I'm here KAP Ashford only charges £25 for an MOT - bargain :)

Atkins Motor engineers in Swinton North Yorkshire are a Nissan service centre. Just had a P1 done for £160.49
They washed the car too, very helpful and I would recommend them.

I'm fairly certain that the work done on 350Z P1 is exactly the same as that done on the P2 (although quoted prices are often different!). Is that also true of the 370Z?

I saw your car there at Wessex Bristol when I picked mine up after a brake fluid change. I was going to drop a card on it but I'd left them behind. By the way, the brake fluid service cost £35 and they replaced all my missing or split dust caps on the calipers. The P1 service is now £233 as I am considering getting it done to keep a full Nissan service history. The last one was done by an independent who I bought the car from.

I think I've struck quite a bargain this year. My cars services are a little out of sink as the next service is due in January (12 months since last one) when it will be 3yrs 4mths old and have about 32000 miles on the clock. Anyway, after several conversations, the car is going to be going in for its 4th year service either in January or I might delay it till March and gradually each year take it out by a couple of months until it gets to September, when it should be due. I'm not sure what this used to be called (P2?) but it includes the brake fluid change and air filter x2 change.

I contacted both my local Wessex garage and the Five Acres garage in Coleford. I'm currently waiting to see if Gloucester can match Five Acres' quote because they have got it down to £206! That doesn't include the cost of oil, which I will be supplying and doesn'

It include the cost or labour for the 2 air filters due to me installing new Stillen intakes this year. However, that seems pretty darn good to me!

Still not sure whether to get it serviced in January or March though. I don't think when I come to sell it, that a 2 months delay would cause an issue re full Nissan service history would it?  :rtfm:

I'd get FSNH and take it to Abbey or another specialist for anything non-service related issue. At least then it'll have valid history and people who know their a*** from their elbow will be working on any serious problems.
