If you were fitting new disks to your car, would you always pair them with new pads?

I ask as my pads were new just 2,000 miles ago.....

Expert opinions please!

They do say you should yes, but if your pads are that new I would have thought it would be ok. But don't take my word for it

Absolutely YES, so they can be bedded in properly together!

Wait until pads are low and then change discs if theirs too much meat on them...

Yes,

General rule of thumb, new disc's warrant new pads, new pads can be put onto old discs

If the wear on your 2000 mile old pads is uniform there is no reason why you cant fit them with new disc's

Do you need new disks? are they below tolerence or has someone said they look a bit worn. I'd be tempted to leave it until your next pad change unless they are very close to the limit.

Just one of my pet hates when dealers replace disks that don't need replacing.

John,

If you're fitting new discs then YES fit new pads. BUT when those pads are worn, just refit your 2000 mile pads and away you go again. Sorted methinks
