I am either hallucinating or a few years behind the times

I am sure back in 06 there was a chatroom attached to this forum? I recall a conversation I had with Rich, RickB and maybe Chubbs... was thinking about that tonight as it was about forum politics that has once again cropped up on another forum.

Did the chatroom get binned?

teatowel,
A chat room would be groovey as long as you didnt try to get me into a private chat and then try and meet me some were on my own just to look at my car ????.

No your not Dreaming TT! There was one but I dont think Paul instigated it when we upgraded the software.

It may be possible, and if it is, would people use it?

Matt, You have a very dark mind  But am sure if you speak to TT nicely then he may play Doctors and Nurses with you !!

Nothin' (much) to do with me guv!

I believe the chat room stopped working after an upgrade (before my time). I was going to try and get it working again when I took over the web admin role but at the time the feeling was not to bother.

Would people like to see it back? I can make an effort to sort it if there is enough interest

I like doctors and Nurses its my fave. If we have a chat room it would need one of those special panic buttons I have heard about as we dont want other car clubs trying to groom us and make us go with them.

All my sillyness aside would it cost us to do an experiment as it might be quiet fun to chat to people live but would it kill some of the forum threads ???.

Sillyness aside? Are you sure?!

Yep, this was the thinking of the Committee at the time. A chat room is good for banter, etc. but useful topics and discussions could be 'lost forever' rather than posted in threads.

Paul,
The more I think about the more I think it would kill loads of the threads which I think is what the forums are about. I could not write one of my long winded tales of woe in a chat room.

But this is only my opinion its up to you guys what you do.

We had a chat room which was used for a few weeks and then nobody used it so we knocked it on the head when the software was due for renewal.

I didn't like it as I can't type quick enough to keep up and ended up answering the comment that was just leaving the top of the screen

As Paul said, when we had it, it was as dead as the proverbial. Don't bother IMHO.
