How to Celebrate an Indian Christmas

Add a touch of Indian flair to your next Christmas celebration.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:
Christmas Tree Ornaments
Christmas Trees
Small Candles
Paprika
Vegetables
Colored Chalk
Vegetables

1
Light and place "diya," small candles, throughout your house.

2
Create floor decorations with brightly colored powders and chalks. Turmeric powder, paprika and flour can be used to create traditional Christmas symbols such as angels and stars.

3
If available, display mango leaves throughout your home during the holiday in place of pine sprigs and holly wreaths.

4
Prepare traditional Indian dishes for friends and family. For example, you might serve tandoori, biryani and curry dishes as a main course and rice pudding for dessert.

5
Dress in festive, traditional Indian clothing to perform Christmas music played on a stringed sitar, drums and cymbals.

I'm used to sitting in a hot tub in the sunshine at Christmas :D sipping a glass or two of shampoo :) - doesnt mean I dont like to see the snow occasionally (well very occasionally) :D

Curry gets served here for Christmas Dinner very often as we dont like roast dinner........the alternative is buffet of everyone's favourite foods to be eaten whenever the hell you want it.......................much more civilised than all that slaving over the kitchen all flaming day and then not serving things because there is too much food :bounce: . I dont see the problem but then I am "special" :D

I must be honest and dont mind whether there is a traditional Xmas meal or curry as long as:

1) i remember the correct date for the party.

2) there is enough booze to get a blue whale drunk.

Ignore them Sar - if they are true Curry enthusiasts they can go and get one after the dinner - or have it delivered to the bar!

Alas, I'm otherwise engaged for the Christmas Party/AGM, but if Turkey Vindaloo or similar is on the menu I can definitely see a change of plan.
