I have noticed over the past few days the website is running really slow - and today its really slow - any reason for this?

Seems alright to me - have you compared it to other sites?

I have a feeling it might have something to do with AVG 2011 which I recently install - I will look into...

I always get nervous when someone asks that - especially since I put some security updates on it Saturday 
I have to see it seems OK to me and I have checked our server, etc.
