I dont mind fitting it (not a problem) its getting the parts and connectors, but I would think that the new GT Edition would not be that much different just an extra but of wiring.

any one know of partnumbers

I can ask Nissan again on your behalf. A friendly dealer might be able to help too.

The chap in the US might be cheaper than Nissan though.

I've finally got it working

It was a lot of effort sorting through bad instructions, zero tech support and misinformation on the web but it's all been worth it now.

You lucky people won't have to go through all the pain - I'll write up a how-to for you :)

Oooooo! :teeth: ...Me likeeee , any offers for fitting it to my JDM 350z?

Your head unit might well have an input for a reversing camera. Simple! ;)

I see they do a wireless version of the camera I used now (well, actually, the same camera with a wireless sender and receiver) --> Wireless reversing camera

As long as it doesn't suffer any interference then it could be good and save you some wiring.

Also, I was thinking of adding a front facing camera and the wireless kit would save me finding a cabling route through the firewall :)

Here is one option for a (wired) forward facing camera. However, I can't use it because of my glowing emblems. Also, I would be wary that it actually fits because the Nissan logos vary in size between different models.

Edit: Work has started on a Nissan 370Z Front / Forward Facing camera here :)

Would that kit be able to wire direct into a connect premium?

How much effort will this actually save Paul? You still have to pull out all the dash plastics in order to fit the reciever? So I guess, it's probably just boot plastics? I think I would probably stick with the wired version still, less power consumption and a lot less t go wrong?

I still plan on fitting one of these though, when is the next mod day? :)

You will need an adapter to make the camera work. You can buy one from the USA here but that already includes a camera. I'm not sure you can but the adapter on it's own. There might be another one available or there might be some instructions on how to make one somewhere.

I think you would get away with just removing the panel along the back of the boot (assuming you power the camera and receiver from the reverse signal). I believe there is a reverse signal in the harness to the head unit so there would be no need to run a cable all the way from the boot to the dash.

You can get a reversing camera on the GT Edition now. Nissan paved the way for that when they introduced the Connect system in the cars.

I don't think Nissan will ever officially offer a retrofit for the Connect cars (and it's not 'officially' possible on the earlier ones like mine). I did ask the question when the GT Edition spec was announced and we never heard anything positive back.

There is an alternative (non-Nissan) kit to upgrade the Connect cars.

I'm sure some resourceful dealers could offer if they chose to.

I have a new unused Kenwood universal reversing camera....so...do you think it would be compatible for my 370z?

So you have the factory sat nav? Is it the Premium Connect touchscreen one or the older one like mine?

Full details here Val :)

I guess your camera would be OK, basically it needs to be NTSC (not PAL) and it has to flip the image. If it's this one then you'll be fine.

The camera I got was very cheap and isn't very good in low light. It is very easy to fit to the car.

I fitted the Sony CMOS camera today. Here is a pic of the old, then new camera:

I am not 100% sure I seated the new camera / number plate light holder correctly as you can see it's a little out of alignment. Also, notice the fuzzy line at the top which is because the camera can now see the car body.

Anyway, I will report back on the alignment later - and more importantly if it's any better in low light conditions :)
