I've been toying with buying a GTR next year and regularly check pistonheads to keep an eye on prices.
Q. Why are there so many GTR's for sale and with extremely low miles? Is there something I need to know?
Running costs don't appear to be excessive.

As I have 28,000 miles on the clock, I'm not in a position to answer that!
The car is epic and there is nothing that comes close.
Why anyone would sell it other than for financial reasons is beyond me.

It probably is financial reasons most of all. That would explain both the numbers and the low mileages. Or that is all I've seen, heard, and thought.
In an ideal world the lack of a manual gearbox would be the main reason, but that's probably wishful thinking on my part . . .

Having had one I can't think of many cars that would be more expensive to run!! Wonderful car though :-)

I suspect running costs are significant in driving short periods of ownership, plus a bit of the 'it' car factor which attracts frequent car changers.
I've had a couple of very costly months on my 20k miler; service, fluid change, front brake replacement, tyres and some bodywork , about £5500 in all.
Mine would be on Pistonheads if SHMBO knew
