As Paul knows, I do think it looks fantastic and is a terrific achievement, but at the moment I still miss the old one.

Let's not forget how enthusiastic we were when that first came blinking into the daylight, but, honestly, I'm not weeping and clutching an oil painting of the old forum to my chest. Well, not often anyway . . .

I do like the fact you can immediately type a reply though, which I think might encourage more in the way of comment. Just hopefully it's more good comment.

Look a lot better? Maybe.

In every other way I hate it. A few shiny pointers as to what has most recently been posted seems to be about the extent of the improvement. I could quickly click to find what was new in each section previously, I don't need - or want - it all ramming down my throat. I can make my own mind up where I want to go, and what I want to find.

It also seems more sluggish, like a lazy, stupid automatic gearbox, compared to the deft manual shift of the old forum. The new media clicky for putting up youtube clips seems like one step forward, two steps back to me, Or rather ten steps back.

Why, when you paste anything into a post, does it go to the top, not the bottom or wherever else you want it. And also if you paste additional text in you have to faff about getting the fonts the same . . .

I'm fed up with it already.

Don't you hold back Michael  I actually really like it now. Easier to post, you can like and follow a subject, you get a trail of the messages written and all their responses, I, myself am sold. But then as my tutor says 'you can't please all the the people all of the time' Come over tomorrow and we will have a drink and take you mind off it all. Sarah :D

Not experienced the new website yet as I'm using the iPhone app which I admit is smashing! Takes a little while to get used to but pretty good either way :)

At the moment we are running the standard skin. I am looking into designing a new skin (or skins) specifically for us. However, the overall layout will remain basically the same - too much modification now brings pain for future upgrades.

I like the fact that you can see the most recent posts and replies. It gives a nice overview if you have been on recently. I personally think the 'View New Content' option is excellent - very flexible and great if you haven't been on for a while and want to catch up.

Does it? It doesn't do that for me. I assume you using the Rich Text Editior (WYSIWG) editor rather than the basic one. It's normal for fonts to be transferred in Rich Text. Which editor where you using before? You can either user the 'light switch' toggle to swap editors when you reply or set the default in your profile settings.

You can just paste youtube links straight into the post and it will automatically add the necessary tags now (something I learnt last night - you learn something new every day!)

It might be slower (I'm undecided as I think it depends on the web browser). Some people like to surf one-handed though!!!
