there's an app! is there an android one?
Sadly, that is still in development (they've been doing it for a year now!! There is a general app for reading forums but not a specific one for Invision Power Board

also, does anyone else use the "like" button? Should it be a thankyou button instead?
I agree. I might change that when I alter the skin. There are different options on the 'reputation system' so I will look into them in more detail soon.

I just checked again and the Android app is in Beta testing still.

In the mean time, the name of the 'generic' app I was talking about is Tapatalk.

Right at the bottom of the main page there is a list of people that have been on in the last 15 mins.

Don't you hold back Michael  I actually really like it now. Easier to post, you can like and follow a subject, you get a trail of the messages written and all their responses, I, myself am sold. But then as my tutor says 'you can't please all the the people all of the time' Come over tomorrow and we will have a drink and take you mind off it all. Sarah :D
Deal.

As an added grumble, the claptrap on the right hand side of the main page has squashed the list of content on the left. So it seems - I say it seems, as it may only be an impression, but I'm happy to take a ruler to the old and new versions - to take longer to scroll down to the bottom end of the forum and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not getting any younger.

However, thanks (again) to Paul for his clarifications. As I hope you realise I've no qualms at all with your efforts. It's just the new uniform doesn't quite fit me . . . yet. :)

Don't forget that we have a lot more scrolling to do as we get to see all the forums whereas most punters only see 2/3 of them. You can always 'minimise' the sub-forums too (hover over the right hand side of the blue bar and a '-' button appears). If you are lucky enough to have a good horizontal resolution there is less scrolling to do as well.

We've said for a while that we need to rationalise the number of sub-forums so I think this is one of the next steps to take now we are on the latest software version. That's a discussion for the 2012 Committee with input from the Members me thinks :)

Ultimately we need to keep up with the new version or we are no longer supported by Invision, so we can't stand still. There are lots of great new features (some of which will become apparent over the next months) :)

Michael - good news for you!!!

If you hover your pointer at the top right of the side bar a 'x' icon will appear with a black background - click that to remove the side bar. Similarly, hover there again and click on the '<<' to bring it back :)

You'll be missing out on some more new features appearing soon though ;)
