I did worry for a moment that you were going to go spoilerless, which is popular in some Celica circles. I think a proper GT4 should have a proper, big spoiler. Talk the talk, walk the walk.

I like having a large, idiot attracting, spoiler that is less easy to reduce in size. It means if I get a follower - like a moth to a bright light - I can drive to a quiet spot, get out a jam jar . . . and smash it over their head.

Not bad, though i didn't think the spoiler was too bad, at least it's not a WRX spoiler.

Unless you go custom I don't thnk there is. Try RTP Performance - I think - as he, Ray, does a lot of custom stuff for the Generation 6 in particular. Although I think he mainly manufactures the raiser blocks for the standard spoiler, not lower vesions.

My comment wasn't random. I'm a vehement supporter of anti-despoilering, and anti-debadging. Big gay wings are fun, and show a sense of humour - provided you drive with a sense of humour, which alas a lot of people don't know how to - and if you're proud to drive the car you should be proud to wear the badge . . .

You're not debadging, are you . . ? :glare:

4th Dec 2011

So this weekend saw the sun strip go, i used a heat gun and my fingers to peel it off, it was an akward bugger but it relented in the end. looks better i think.

then i set to work on the audio wiring, it went from looking like this mess.

finally to this.

looks like part of the OEM harness now which makes me cry less at night. Also the sound quality is far better would you believe, I then fiddled with the audio settings and it is actually rather impressive for a stock speaker system :D

Good work. Soldering, I take it? What tool do you use? As I could do with a new one, considering the hand-me-down one I have now looks like it almost predates electricity. Almost. ;)

well if you can do engines i need the top stripped off to resolve an oil leak and I suck at working on engines  Electrical is always rewarding/relaxing for me.

yes it was soldered with heatshrink covering before being taped up together.

RE new soldering iron, depends what your budget is and what you are soldering. I didn't go wild and just bought a 15/20 quid mains plug one which does nearly everything i need with no issues. you can buy them with variable temperature and of varying sizes but for most people there is no need. buy some flux soldering paste, some decent quality solder (i use leaded solder but be careful if you do the same), some nice wire strippers and some good quality glue lined heat shrink.
I also have a gas powered iron that's a bit of a beast, I only use it in those difficult places in the car where a cord would get in the way. Can be a good idea to get a heat proof mat also to protect the car from solder drips.
