Hello all just like to introduce myself im from Shrewsbury in Shropshire and i own a black 350z GT spec what a car.I have been out in it all day and while reversing into my drive i heard a clicking noise at the back only for a few minutes any idea of what the fault could be and how much to fix it.Sorry to be joining with a problem. The car is 2004 reg and done 30,000 with a full service history.Otherwise very pleased with the car looks and the performance.

Hi :welcometonissansportz:

Yes, it sounds like a clicky rear axle. This is a 'known issue' with the 350Z. If you want to save some pennies you can buy a kit and fit it yourself.

Or, you can ignore it. Your wheels won't fall off :)

pm Zmanalex, he is a trader on here who can supply the kit.

It's not a stupid question. I think it'll be fine - does everyone else agree?

The noise is slight play between the drive shaft spline and the outer cv joint, as the car pulls away the torque (twisting) makes the spline click as it takes up the play in the joint.

I would be very surprised if it ever failed completely, but it will annoy you when you pull away and hear it click.

There are a quite a few options and should be loads of info here somewhere. I will try and find some links later if no-one shows you what they have got.
