Yes, it sounds like a clicky rear axle. This is a 'known issue' with the 350Z. If you want to save some pennies you can buy a kit and fit it yourself.
Or, you can ignore it. Your wheels won't fall off

Does sound like the clicky axle, my 04 had the same issue.
Its an easy job if your ok with spanners
