Well .... a good day turned bad ..... I've reversed into a parked mini and done their rear panel on a two door mini (didn't hit the door but got the panel between the door and rear wheel pretty badly).

I've got photos and will put them up later but is there anyone on here that would have a rough idea of the cost to repair once I get them up??

I'll get them to get quotes but I need to decide how much it's going to be and if it's worth going through insurance or not.....

:( ..........

Great start to the week !!!

Luckily nothing but some small paint damage to the Zed .... most of which will polish out ..... but the Mini !!! The panels must be thinner than a coke can !! couldn't believe the damage done !!

Oh well ......... there goes another load of money - if I pay for the repairs or claim on insurance you know it will end up costing me big time !!

Sorry Steve but you'd have been better off hitting the door, rear quarter panels are a horrible repair and even worse to replace. I'd imagine it'll be 4 figures, definatly so if they take it to BNW :( :(

Aw Steve :(

I hope it doesn't work out too expensive for you. Get it delivered to somewhere with lots of filler and a spray can ready! ;)

It's too late to mention a reversing camera :(

I will agree on the 1K area unless you can find someone to do it for cash, they will also quite possibly want a loan car whilst its fixed, something you wont get with a cash job.

Brace yourself for going through Insurance, its what we pay it for after all

I may be lucky on the loan car side as the car is being traded in this week (bad timing for the owner) .... so we are going to see if the garage it's going to for trade in (Gowrings Ford dealership in Wokingham) will do the repairs themselves after the trade in (thats my hope) - obvioulsy I'd agree a repair price before they take it but they have their own bodyshop so I would guess they would do the repairs and that would be cheaper than BMW !!

Fingers crossed !!

Well ......not everything is bad in this world .... The dealer is doing the repair and the owner is doing the trade in ...... and the cost ..........
£540 !! :headhurt: - so ..... not as bad as we all thought really ....

Now, by the time I'd have paid my excess it's really not worth getting the insurance companies involved.... so I'm now off to the dealer to pay up !!

Good result Steve, I would suggest getting a receipt showing payment in full, just in case they discover anything else when they do the job.
