Is your spare room downstairs? Maybe you could fit an exterior door and a covered walkway to the ZedShed... ;)

Hope I'm not boring you lot to much with the body work - Not much else happening at the moment.

First coat of primer/filler on this was dry
Posted Image

and this needs work next

Posted Image

First had to remove all the glue and sticky nastiness that has held a few number plates on

Posted Image

then onto the front edge - this has taken some stick (anyone who's been to the ZedShed and seen my road knows why) and I run low!

Posted Image

I also have a small split in the top edge

Posted Image

So out with the fibreglass for some new strength

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

last thing tonight I flat the side skirt down

Posted Image

and another coat of primer

Posted Image

In other news

My new 95.5mm Cosworth (standard size) pistons are not going to cut the mustard with the new block as we need to hone it a few thou - this will mean the pistons are out tolerance.

So they go back and a new set of 11:1 Cosworth 96mm pistons are on the way

Hope the engine build gets underway soon :)

That's all folks ...........................

And like that

He was gone.

Back when I was picking beans in Guatemala, we used to make fresh coffee, right off the trees I mean. That was good. This is s*** but, hey, I'm in a police station.

These 2, a new more expensive gun and a change in thinners and results have improved :yahoo:

so a bit of filler on here

Posted Image

and the first coat of primer

Posted Image

First job today was to tidy the ZedShed

Posted Image

and then with the assistance of Bob

we got this

Posted Image

and these off the car and into the ZedShed

Posted Image

So she looks like this now :scare:

one problem with a complete colour change is how much you have to take apart to paint it!

Like the wing mirrors!

Posted Image

How to do this -

remove the glass by popping the 2 clips from underneath

then remove the glass mount

Posted Image

remove the screws from the bottom and behind the mount

then take this out

Posted Image

pop the 2 plugs off

Posted Image

you get to here

Posted Image

now pull the motor out

Posted Image

cut these 2 wirers (its easier)

Posted Image

pull the pins out of the 2 plates

Posted Image

now pull the wires out ONE AT A TIME (they will fit) through the hole in the motor

Posted Image

remember where these go !!!

Posted Image

more coming ...........................

So while Bob was round we stripped the doors down - me doing all the work while Bob takes pictures

Posted Image

Posted Image

The ladies helping

Posted Image

more bits for paint :)

Posted Image

and then problem for the day

tried my new carbon pillars - boy they look BAD

Posted Image

it's not the pillars
it's the Carbon roof this is the front on the driver's side

Posted Image

this is the back

Posted Image

so it's not square and true
however the other side -

front

Posted Image

and back

Posted Image

is square and true :headhurt:

so its either back to front or not a very good fit - add to this that I have never really liked the carbon roof as it doesn't fit perfectly, it "bubbles" in the middle and the edges make it look very "aftermarket" and stuck on.

So ...............................

I got radical

Posted Image

So that's changed the plans again

not sure on what I'm going to do either a wrap or paint .... still thinking about it.

That's all folks ................................

As you said it does look like a huge amount of work to totally change the colour.

I think you should do something radical (like you always do) and turn it into a targa top ;)
