So petrol only costs 53.8p a litre before the Government skins us alive :angry:

Daylight robbery....... But I did hear that petrol was being sold for about 3p per litre in some far away land fairly recently. So how can they refine it for so much less???

In oil rich nations like Saudi it's that price. Thing is, they don't have to buy the oil and they don't have tax on it. So the only costs are refining + retail profit. That's how it's so cheap.

I was surprised recently by some regional variatons - Tesco Momentum was 3p per litre cheaper in Reading than Oxford!
