So this is my first 350z, never really been a Nissan guy, but this suddenly popped up when i sold my Mustang (wasn't even looking for a 350z, i figured they were out of my range)

I moved to the states about 18 months ago from the UK (see my sig for the car i rebuilt and ran there) I'm loving the 350z so far, only owned it a few months, but it's certainly one of the best cars i've driven, satisfying in many many ways, even just driving around on straight roads (for which there are many here :( )

Anyway, i'm noticing a few differences between models here and there as well as updates and alternate parts, but for the most part, it's the same car. Mine is the 2004 model, it's classed as the touring model here, leather heated seats, 18 inch wheels and Bose 6CD in dash.

Hopefully i can help out users with any questions they have and maybe even provide an address for people to order things from and have them shipped on to the UK.

Hi David, good to have you on board. I am looking forward to reading about the restoration, probably won't get chance until the weekend though. Sounds like you have the equivalent of the UK GT spec. Some pictures would be good. Do you get to any meets out there in the states? Be great to see some of the mods you guys have too.

We are running a new format on the forum and I am struggling to find the admin area to swap you over to member, but hopefully I will either find it shortly or Paul_S (he who knows everything) will do it for us edit - found it and now switched to full member .

Sarah :hello:
ps shout if we can help at all.

Welcome to the forum MaDMaXX
Yes the US market had much more variety than the UK. what made you go for the Touring spec?
Prelude VTEC is a great car, my brother had one for about 5 years loved it!

Thanks for the welcomes, living in the states is fun, there are certainly some parts to be had over here, but it's difficult finding a solid community for cars, i tend to find it's a lot of 17 year olds being cocks :(

But enough about that, I only really have two good pictures right now, taken a couple of months ago when i got the car, but they'll give you an idea of what the USDM model looks like, i'm interested in comparing the specs as the model names do not match with the UK.

This is a Touring model, it's the one down from top model, in Pikes Peak white (pearl white to the rest of us) QX1 paint code iirc.

The car is stock except for the front grill overlay and a slight tint to the side and rear windows.

Beautiful. There aren't many white coupes over here, I think I have only seen one. So do you have plans for it?

Hey :welcometonissansportz:

Glad to have you here :D

Looks like a very tidy standard example you have, such a shame that after looking through some American Forums, some examples can be of an 'acquired taste' :bang:

I can also agree with Sarah that you will be a very valuable and appreciated asset to the forum :)

Why the move anyhow? Good ol' blightly bringing you down? If you don't mind me asking

Yeah, it's arguably the best colour (color :( ) over here ;)

I might do some little things, i'd love to get a vacuum gauge hooked up and i'm not sure on it's most comfortable revs when cruising, such is the torque levels :)

Right now i'm trying to be on a budget as the wife is taking a year off to train and change careers :} :( I hate insecurity....

I'm actually after a white nissan painted mudflap for the front, do they have pearl white over there? the first time in nearly 15 years driving and managed to forget that i parked right up against a curb in a parking lot (gah darnit, this crap rubs off on you! :( ) car park, away from numpties. Ironically, only to have the one driving it mount the curb as i went to leave, crushing the underside of the flap and ever so slightly curbing the wheel, i was gutted :(

Not sure if it's more variety or just more range in lower specs, it seems a lot of industry over here is setup to cater to lower budgets generally, only one (i think) model has brembos over here, i understand they all do over there?

I didn't choose the spec i'm afraid, if i'm honest, i was looking for a WRX, it's the highest population over here in the world of scoobies. But they all dried up and i was stiffed by a seller up north. Didn't even think i could afford a 350, yet when i checked, there was one 10 mins down the road from me and for a price i could manage!!
It was advertised as one up from base spec, but turned out to be one down from top spec :)

Yeah, i loved the Prelude, i'd dreamed about owning that model since i rode in one as a child when it was released in '92/93. Check the link for how i got the car and some nice pics at the end once i'd finished it. Most people find all 50 pages of the work i did on it, too much, at least for one sitting :) Loads of pics and info though.

Yeah, same here, i was quite surprised, and happily so, i'd been driving a Bullitt Mustang since i got here, which was nice, and fun as it was my first V8, but very unrefined :( My choice of cars i can look for is incredibly limited over here due to nearly all cars on the road being automatics :(

Yes.... acquired taste, one i'm glad i have yet to acquire.... :not_i:

I hope i can be of use here, if only for puerile facts and info :P Again, if anyone does need a US address to ship things to and then arrange themselves to have it shipped from my place to the UK, that's fine in most cases. For little things, i don't mind taking the postoffice route to send it on myself.

No, you can ask all you want ;) I didn't particularly want to leave the UK, but i did want to move *to* the US :boat: . Primary reason has to be to marry my wife though :D I have friends here and the standard of living and just things in general are nicer/easier here, i like it, shame there aren't many (read very few) good roads though. Besides, fuel, even if it is yanky piss, is about 40p/litre.

Great to have US guys as members on here :D
Little known fact on the 2004 US Touring spec - It has a higher torque engine than any other UK 350Z or 370 Z!

Just wondered what State you reside in if you don't mind me asking? Have spent a lot of time in the US mainly on business.

I didn't know that about the '04, interesting, i'm also starting to read things from Abbey re the electronic throttle limiting power in certain gears and below certain RPM?

Hello, and welcome. :hello: :welcometonissansportz:

That is a nice looking Zed.

Don't you count the mudflaps as mods? I would. They're a sign of a good owner in my opinion.

Oregon? Now, there's a cool state. More like the north of England than anywhere else? And I mean that in the complimentary sense. ;)

Hmm, well it came with the mud flaps and although an option, it seems like most cars here have them, people are taking them off per preference though. I like them i think they finish off the bottom of the car, like the factory flaps on the Prelude did as well. Plus they're much better for the paintwork :)

Yes, i like Oregon a lot, it's *very* similar to the north west of England, that's where i used to live, west lancs.
