We bought a New Skoda Octavia Scout & had it remapped, came in at 19400 after some beating up of dealers, happy to go just about anywhere, cruises all day at 100 & in 50000 miles apart from a delaminating alloy fixed under warranty nothing has gone wrong
If you need a "percieved" classy badge get a 330D BMW & remap it

Im looking to get something a little more classy as the 225 is still quite like my 350z as its stiff and noisy etc.

Clearly a bloody good salary
Long Distance (12k/yr+)
BMW E90/92 3-Series - 330d/335d (325d with a remap would achieve the same power as the 330d and you'll probably get a better spec for less)
Audi A5 3.0TDI Quattro Sport - Loads of torque, fairly decent spec and they look stunning with 19" alloys and a deep metallic blue
Merc CLK320 CDI - As above, fairly rare where I live anyway, unfortunately autos but fitted with a decent 7sd Tip Tronic box as fitted to the AMGs
Short Distance (12k/yr-)
As above but petrol engine equivalents

The CLS AMG is a close 2nd behind the E55 AMG so far but Im still torn between the B7 RS4 V8.
The RS4 is more expensive to buy but "may" be cheaper to run? The E55's are a a lot cheaper to buy but the fuel I would be a fair bit more I would have thought.
The G37's are nice but Im thinking german is what Im looking for for this one. Im still fighting the "head" but my heart still keeps me looking at silly cars! I should get a little TDi and be done with it! lol..
