Been away for a little while, but when I got back to work found my new gleaming company vehicle waiting for me (well it was gleaming for about 20minutes!). Its a 2.5Tdci Ford Ranger and having run it for 3 days now, I'm quite impressed. Done 450miles in it, and about half of them have been off road during the recent windy weather attempting clear huge volumes of fallen timber!

Interior feels a bit low rent but that doesnt really bother me! All I care about is not getting stuck in 2 feet of mud. Engine pulls really well and its capable of pulling decent size trees off the roads all by itself!

Very nice! Tony want to have a close up look. He has just ordered a Navara king cab and hasn't managed to actually see one for real. Loads of double cabs! Be interesting to see what the ford one sizes up like as they look quite similar.

I would have prefered a Navara or a Hi-Lux to be honest but had to go with the Ranger due to company policy of a deal we have with Ford! (quite like the new VW Amarok as well) The rear of the King Cab is pretty tiny to be honest. I certainly wouldnt want to do any distance in the back of it and I'm only 5'10"! I only opted for the king cab over the single for a bit more interior space.

Friend of mine just traded his king cab Navara in for a crew cab as he's just had a baby! He swears by them though!

To be honest, he doesn't expect to carry many passangers in the back, like you, it's more extra cab space for tools to keep them dry and safe.

If you're going to have a second car to a Zed that's probably exactly what you need.

I've never seem one of those on the road so you're exclusive twice over!

They're a bit more common over here (obviously) but then, the pickup, or "truck" as they're called here, are generally everywhere.
