If cooking i would say shiny on the inside, it would reflect more heat into whatever your cooking

Silver foil used in cooking is made using 2 layers, once its gone through the machine on its final pass it creates one bright side and one matte side, when they are put together both sides are matte finish, its only in the machining where both sides become bright and when separated in the later stages you get one bright side and one matte side. There is not a great percentage difference between either surfaces really probably only 8%. I think thats about right anyway. :hrhr:

A bit of useless information for you there lol. :hrhr:

I always thought it was shiny side outside and matt side inside.

A bit like cars. ;) :D

Dull matt finishes both absorb and dissipate heat faster than shiny surfaces. So if you want to wrap something in tin foil to keep it warm, then shiny side out. If you want to put something in the oven to cook it, then shiny side in will allow heat to pass in quicker.

But as mentioned, it won't make all that much difference!
