The wipers on my Zed are the originals and I thought it's about time I changed them - they've recently been less efficient at clearing the screen.

I started looking into the alternatives and it all got a bit confusing (and expensive). The single bendy blade type aren't cheap!

My Nissan dealer quoted me £31.93 for the drivers' side and £24.72 for the passenger side - and you need to add VAT on that!

In the end I ordered a set of blade refills from Nissan for £12. I'll let you know how I get on fitting them when they arrive.

For reference, the driver side is 21" and the passenger 19".

Out of interest, has anyone else replaced theirs and what with?

I bought a set of Aero Flat wiper blades ( bendy blades ) off ebay for about £25 for the pair, including postage.

They work very well, alot better than the standard type.

haha, I was driving home today and think to my self "I need some new wiper blades, I wonder what the best type are? I might ask the forum"... you beat me to it!

I'm not opposed to spending the type of money you mentioned, as long as the wipers are VERY good. (obviously I would rather they were cheaper, but I want good, long lasting blades and thats more important than price for me).

For my Focus I bought the Bosch ones from halfords for about 30-40 quid. And they were pretty good. But then I part ex-ed it for the zed 3 months later, so I have no idea on longevity.

Might wait and see what you think for £12 if they are any good!

In theory they should be just as good as the wipers were when new - but I suppose that depends on how well the rubbers go into the blades.

I loved my PIAA silicon wipers on the 350Z but I don't think they do them in 'blade' form - and they would be V pricey if they do!

I was in Halfords yesterday looking for a replacement set as last year my stealer replaced them as part of the service and charged me a CRAZY amount ..... The trouble is as usual the 370z doesn't appear in their "flip guide" to work out what you need. (why don't we exist ???)
I searched on the web and found the specs but I wanted the Bosch flat blades and of course they didn't have them.

I will look on eBay today and see what I can find !!

I got them fitted - a nice easy job (How-To in the Members section here).

It was actually easier than replacing the blades in conventional wipers as the runners are all along the length of the wiper rather than a few of them being on the end of the various metal arms.

My advice would be, if your existing bendy wipers are in good condition and it's only the rubber blade that needs replacing then save yourself a load of cash and buy the genuine Nissan refills and fit them yourself :)

True Andy. I suppose it depends how far you are from your dealer and how soon you need them:)

They look the same so I'm pretty sure you can get the refills. Without checking, it might even be the same size as one of the fronts.

Ooh, you just reminded me, my rear beam blade wiper (came on the car from the previous owner) just let go at the bottom :( Off to Autozone for one of their own brand knock off beam blades for the rear screen :)
