I had some of this!

I reported it to Westover who tell me this is known problem for the offside unit and will be replaced under warranty.

It seems the heat from the front oil cooler causes the seals on the unit to fail, and to avoid this a heat shield is fitted with the replacement unit.

I'm not sure if this is just an MY11 problem but I'll try and find out and update this topic.

I had heard this was 2011 only but could be wrong.

I've not had this problem on my zed as yet, but on other cars i've owned with this problem i put some small bags of Silica Gel in the rear of the lamp ( remove the headlamp bulb cover on the rear of the lamp unit and place the bags just inside near where the bulb is fitted and refit the cover ).

I found this worked quite well and kept condensation to a minimum.

You can usually find these bags in the box with a new pair of shoes or things like that, i'm not sure if they are available off the shelf.

That's a clever trick. I can probably find some of these at work (we get a lock of packages with them in). I can bring them to the Mod Day if you like.

Yeah that would be a good idea Paul, we can give it a go and see if it works.

Its a cheaper alternative to buying a new lamp.

I've had the GT-R problem confirmed as early build MY11 cars only. Just me then!

in the summer or if you have a garage, get it in there and open the lamp up to the outside dry air. The best solution is to take the unit off the car and place it in a really warm place. The botttom of the 350z light has the ballast on it so the water can pool in there like a reservoir and takes a longer exposure to warmth to dry out.

I SUFFER TOO
I thought that using WoREoD's expensive Glass polisher on the inside of the lights would be a neat mod too to do at the same time :o)

Update!

I saw Z Eds car (2009 April delivery) and both of his headlights had a 20mm deep condensation strip on the lower portion of the headlamp.
It may be down to not garaging.
