Some bell end has chipped the paint on my passenger door in the car park at work. I phoned my very helpful (NOT!) local Arnold Clark Nissan dealer to see if they had titanium silver touch up paint (I think this is my colour, is there any way of knowing for sure? I bought second and). Apparently the touch up paint in this colour is discontinued, WTF? Could this be true or is this my local dealer being a bunch of donuts again? If so where could I get the exact paint from?

I gave 370 a full machine polish last weekend, and it looks stunning.... apart from it's recent door bash!

Thanks

Pedro

I think the colour is probably Titanium Grey which is indeed now a discontinued ( but now unique ) colour, but paint can be mixed all you need is the code which i think from memory is on the sticker by the drivers door, hth.

Nissan appear to be crap at providing touch up paint full stop.
Everyone should keep a touch up pen with them to avoid inevitable chips rusting. My white 370z (pearlescent) needed a small needle head stone mark touching in and Nissan said they didn't do a touch up for it.

I went online and found a couple of the GTR owners (with same colour) had ordered a touch up successfully from USA, OR recommended using the white used on the Nissan Cube (which is VERY similar and similar code.

What I'm saying is have a look at other nissans and see if there is s close match you can use OR have a look at the US site because they have them all.

Not ideal bug better than driving round with your scuffed door

Paint code is on the driver door entry. Mine blue is RAE.

Go on website paints4u and order your code as a touch up kit.

If your car is a 2010/2011 model, it'll probably be Twilight Grey

It was advertised by the land rover garage I bought it from as twilight grey, though I think it is titanium grey (the guy at Nissan gave me the KAC code), so I'll have a look on the paints 4u site thanks. The advert that I bought the car from also said it had premium connect, which it doesn't (and in honesty didn't matter to me) but I got 250 quid back when I pointed it out

From the Members area:

Titanium Grey (metallic) - KAC

So it looks like you have the correct code / colour.

There is something afoot with the touchup paints. Mine has been discontinued (not too surprising as it's a limited edition colour I suppose), but it's the same for Sarah's Juke - and 'Force Red' is the 'poster' colour for the car and still one of the most popular colours on sale.

I have been told that Nissan are fazing out the paint pots and are going to introduce something else but I can't guarantee that info is correct.

I've got a pack from Chipex for my 370. I had a tiny stone chip which amazingly landed in a smallest of gaps between my Ventureshield protction. Worked a treat. Not cheap though.

Was the Chipex easy to do? They are £50 for the pack when I looked - but if they do a good job, I guess that it is worth the money given the Z's propensity for stone chips. Group Buy anyone?!!
