Well, my car’s a 2010 model, with the Connect Premium/satnav system. If you have an earlier model, or one without Connect Premium, you'll need a slightly different setup. The solution shown here works for 2010 models onwards.

I believe that currently the 2013 GT Edition (the most expensive of the 3 options, at £37k+) includes a reversing camera as standard, but no other models have it.

I got a new reversing camera off Ebay for £21.50 ( HERE ) and a wiring loom made by Paul_S (electronics genius and Admin Bloke on this site) for £60 delivered ( HERE ), making a total of £81.50 – Bargain!

I installed it myself (took about half a day, at my snail’s pace). It wasn’t hard to do. No cutting or drilling (the camera simply replaces one of the number plate lights and it has a replacement light included in the unit). The camera image is so good that I just want to drive everywhere backwards – I dare say this urge will wear off eventually.

Result – one delighted customer!

I would thoroughly recommend this mod. The rear view on 370z's is almost non-existent, so you need at least a camera (I’m thinking that maybe I need reversing sensors too).

If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks for that Chubbs!, I'm happy you're happy! :)

As you say, this mod will work on any Premium Connect 370Z (not just UK cars, all countries).

For the latest fitting instructions and cost of the kit see here.

Drop me a PM or reply to this thread if you're interested :)

For those with a non-Connect Premium 370Z, I also make a reverse camera kit for you car - see here :)

...When I open it up to free nissansportz 'Users' it will cost £70 because they won't qualify for the Members discount...

That will still be a bargain Paul, when you consider that to buy the same thing* from America will cost you in the region of £112 +import duty.

*Actually, from my point of view, your wiring loom is significantly better than the US version, because it hase the camera power cable attached - and because you're in England it's delivered much more quickly.

ps - please don't think I'm posting this to help a mate - I've only met the bloke once, about 5 years ago!

To quote what I've just said in the members' area - "That's what I call parking perfection." Excellent work Paul. There could not be an easier way to install yourself a reversing camera at a very cheap price.

There is an option available for pre-2010 owners, slightly more expensive, using an extra bit of electronics, called a 'Navtool'.

Paul_S (who made the wiring loom for my car) has installed this on his own car, which is also pre-2010 - I'm sure he will post a more informed answer for you here soon. (In fact, he's done a complete and comprehensive 'how to' on this very subject, but it's in the members' area.)

Is this the NavTool you're referring to?

Yes, I think that may be the thing - not cheap, is it? As I've not done the mod using this NavTool, please wait for confirmation from someone who has.

Yes, that's the one.  It's not cheap but it works well.  It also gives you another video input so you can plug something else in too.

Be warned though that if you buy one the loom they supply will not work with UK cars and needs to be modified to do so (full info in the Members section).  I guess I could make a small interconnecting loom to make it work if you are interested but it would add to the overall cost of course.

If you do buy the Navtool then remember to buy a camera which has the guide lines.

It looks like a Premium Connect to me because there is no 'load' button to the right of the CD slot.  If it's touchscreen then it definitely is :)

Hi Kev,

Thanks for joining the club! The members area goes much further than a photo with full how to guides, and information about the loom you need to hook up the reverse camera! The guide goes through routing the cables etc, but as for the camera itself, all you see is this:

gallery_245_77_11298.jpg

P.s. do introduce yourself, and let us know about your car, and obviously include some pictures! http://forums.nissan...ew-around-here/

Hi Kev :hello:

Thanks for that reply Andy :)

As you can see from the pic, you can buy a camera that replaces one of the number plate lights to it looks OEM and there is no need to drill any holes in your car.
