Morning Folks,

After the sudden sale of the LMB before Christmas, all can now be revealed. I am just back at work after my handover from Westover Nissan B'mouth. I am the VERY proud owner of an MY17 Nismo in Storm White. Very much down to a perk of my OH working there, but the deal was too good to turn away. Collected the car this morning after already have a few small bits done to it. It hasn't quite sunk in yet, but I'm it will!

I have a few plans up my sleeve, also have MANY parts sat at my work ready to fit and fiddle with over time. I'll use this thread for keeping a track of things I get up to and any silly questions I may have (no doubt many) ((sorry Paul in advance haha!)).

Cheers, Matt :D

I saw a thread recently about the Match mod day, is any one welcome along?
I'm new when it comes to detailing, what's GTechniq? :)

G Techniq is a marvellous magically solution that is applied to the glass and makes the rain just bead away. It lasts for a very long time if memory serves me right it approx 18,000 miles. The guys did mine last time, bl00dy brilliant stuff. I'm going to do my sons car now. Be great to see you at mod day anyway

Matt, GTechniq make a range of detailing products for cars - everything for your upholstery, tyres, bodywork, glass etc. The glass treatment products stand out, though. Basically, they get the glass clean, polish it to as flat as possible then cover it in a nano-particle layer which chemically bonds to the surface and repels water and dirt. This means that dirt just rinses off (as it can't bind to the glass) and as Chilli says above, water just beads and either rolls down and off or disappears with the airflow when you are moving, hence no need for wipers above about 50 mph. The layer also leaves the glass with a deep, deep polished look and it will last for ages.

Other products which claim to do similar things can be an absolute nightmare when it comes to removing the excess polish/repellant layers and do not last anywhere near as long. If you can make it to the March Mod/Detailing day at Chilli's (yes - everybody is invited!) it would take us about one and a half hours to do all the glass for you - all you would need to bring is a GTechniq G1/G2 combo pack (they are sold as a pair) and a bottle of G4. Total cost of £20-ish - we supply the labour!

Hope you can make it in March!!

Jeff.

Right, few pictures of what I've been up to with the car. Nothing ground breaking by any stretch of the imagination but I do like to keep myself busy with things.
A perk of the OH working at the dealership meant I could get access to the car prior to registration and get to work! I dropped Gizmo down to a friend who runs a wrapping business. He set about his tasks of window tints, gloss black A pillars, and Paint protection (bonnet, bumper, wings and roof).

Whilst at the unit I set about removing the front wheel arch trims that someone at Nissan thought were a good idea!! This was a tad scary....taking a drill to a brand new car that wasn't even mine yet...but was definitely worth it!

Next up, the all important 30bhp mod - fit my old GTR Start button!
CD7812AD-23AF-4BEF-9C1D-7A5CBF323300.jpg

Then to pop my lucky mascot into the cup holder....this is Rory :D
7EA85F1B-6E4F-48A4-92FB-F1E140C2B89C.jpg

Shameless stole this idea after seeing it on Les's car recently. Picked up these Nismo stickers on eBay, really happy with how they look.
8E2E376A-009F-49E1-AD74-A35EDB78104B.jpg

Also nabbed myself a bargain before Christmas and had them fitted over the weekend. Motordyne ART Test Pipes. Should sound great once the exhaust has had time to bed in.
3F11628E-22EC-443C-B2AC-5D49F16E9BB8.jpg

Also a carry over from my a mod I did to the LMB Z. Add some red tint film to the clear portion of the rear lights. Looks so much cleaner now from the back :D

Finally, the obligatory LED sidelights (right) to replace the somewhat old school yellow 501's (left) fitted by Nissan.

Cheers Sarah :D

I've still got a whole hoard of things that I've been stock piling at the office to work my way through. It's just too cold ATM for anything that takes longer than 30 minutes to fit! Loose feeling in my fingers
