As my own selection is unlikely to make the Pistonheads website I have decided to shamefully steal their idea to get some air time! I would be interested to hear your thoughts on what would be your £100k garage.

Starting Rules are:

No more than £100k total using the classified as your guide (no cheating!)

Five Cars Total (1 from Japan, 1 from Germany, 1 from US, 1 from GB, 1 from ANother European country)

Give us a pic (if you can) and a reason for each choice

I found it quite hard to decide and didn't go into it with any definite choices from the start and was quite surprised with what I ended up with!

I'll post my selection up later today to get the juices flowing

Great idea.  Here goes.

My Japanese Car

med_gallery_123_431_111848.jpg

2002 Civic Type R

http://www.autotrade...=at_cars&page=1

£2250

Reason: One of the few cars I have really loved - Had the first one to land in Cambridge - Pre Ordered and never driven before I picked it up.  It was such a all round car - part Go Kart - part shopping trolley.  Now so very cheap a really good example well looked after.

My German Car

med_gallery_123_431_414100.jpg

Audi RS6 AVANT 4.2 Estate 5dr Petrol Automatic Quattro (350 g/km, 450 bhp)

http://www.autotrade...-60=TO_5&page=3

£8995

Reason: Love these cars - from the days of watching them run around circuits as medical cars - they are just under stated.

My GB Car

med_gallery_123_431_352240.jpg

TVR Griffith 5.0 500 2dr

http://www.autotrade...rice-asc&page=2

£25,995

Reason: My heart as many of you know was taken by TVR, yes they are un-relaible - very un-relaible.  Yes they have issues.  But they harp back to days when Health and Safety didn't ruine the world and the exhaust noise would upset the neighbours.  I don't think there will ever be people as mad as TVR.  Real racing enthusiasts and some of the nicest people working for them - many I still call friends.  This one though expensive comes from our Primary sponsor in TVR Tuscans and GT - so I will hand the extra £5k to them for that.

US Car

med_gallery_123_431_234496.jpg

Ford Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost Fastback Auto 3dr

http://www.autotrade...rice-asc&page=4

£32,950

Reason: I know its not the V8.  But in reality there isn't much performance difference and this is the best on MPG.  I love these Mustangs.  I think I should have one in My Garage.  I would have the new Corvette but I have run out of cash.

Another Euro Car

med_gallery_123_431_236744.jpg

Renault Clio 3.0 V6 Renaultsport 3dr

http://www.autotrade...del=CLIO&page=1

£23,995

Reason: One in the owners club - I love these.  We had a Clio 182 for about 5 years and it was remarkably reliable, the performance was amazing.  This is possibly the ultimate model.  Super rare and going up in value.

Leaving £5815.00 - which will pay some of the TVR Maintenance costs.

My choices...I feel I may have to have a few cracks at this though! Like Shrekkie says, its not enough money, but I'm sure there is a perfect combination out there for me!

USA: 1964 Pontiac Tempest Station Wagon

Pontiac_zps1jij74ck.jpg

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/pontiac/other-models/1964-pontiac-tempest-v8-326-station-wagon/6755860

Cost: £24750
Why I chose it: American road-tripping is something that I’ve always fancied and what better way to do it than in a massive lazy V8 powered station wagon. This Pontiac Tempest features a 326 V8, has had a full rebuild and includes some welcome upgrades like front disc brakes for stopping its 2.5t bulk!

Japan: 1995 Nissan Skyline R33

Skyline_zpsm1u2ojkl.jpg

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/skyline-r33/1995-nissan-skyline-r33-gtr--fresh-import--oem-condition/6863410

Cost: £16500
Why I chose it: As a child of the Gran Turismo generation what else could be on the list but a Skyline. I used to lust after the R34 but as I’ve grown up a bit I now far prefer the styling of the R33. This example comes in OEM condition bar the Blitz exhaust and with a bit of cosmetic work to the wheels and paintwork could be a lovely example for future growth and a piece of history

GB: 2005 Bentley Continental Flying Spur

Bentley_zpsuqmcn6of.jpg

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bentley/flying-spur/bentley-flying-spur-6-0-w12/6714766

Cost: £23995
Why I chose it: I actually wanted a W12 VW Phaeton as my German car but they are so rare that I’ve had to upgrade to the Flying Spur (basically the same car but with a bit of extra aplomb coming with a Bentley badge). I love fast saloon cars and with a 200mph top speed they don’t come much quicker. This example comes with the rear relaxation pack which means Jeeves can take the wheel when I’m too knackered after a hard day at work!

Germany: 1991 VW Golf MkII GTi

Golf_zps0sr1gl5h.jpg

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/golf-gti-mk1-mk2/volkswagen-1991/6965127

Cost: £4500
Why I chose it: I love the way the MkII Golf is styled and with the big bumpers it truly is one of the cars of the late 80s early 90s which has aged so well. They drive so well too and with this example coming with so much history it feels like a bit of a bargain. I actually wanted an Oak Green example but couldn't find one

Europe: 1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale

Lancia_zpspxhf7xve.jpg

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201612150622506?make=LANCIA&radius=1500&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=cb42qt&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&sort=price-asc&page=1

Cost: £29900

Why I chose it: Long cold nights in the Hafren Forest (Mid Wales) to watch a set of lights flash past when I was about 10! Really strong memories of the sound and feelings back then of these epic little cars. Plus you know I’m a hot hatch and fast saloon sort of person hence why my whole list looks the way it does!

Noooo Les, you cannot assume that! It's me, it's me, it's meeeeeeeee

NB £100k doesn't even get me the first car on the list!!!

Right, this will give you some idea of what I lust after (of course, if I had another 100k I'd have the GT-R and a 370Z too)...

1. AMERICAN - I need a car that looks like it could be a mobster's vehicle. This will do...

1941 Buick Special Sedanette - £21,500 - http://www.carandcla....uk/car/C850245

Screen Shot 2017-03-22 at 18.28.43.png

2. EUROPEAN - Daily runabout...

3. GERMAN - I must have a small mobile home and Auto-Sleepers conversions are the best...

VW T4 AUTOSLEEPER GATCOMBE 2.5TDI MOTORHOME ONLY 34K MILES 1 OWNER - £19,995 http://www.ebay.co.u...IMAAOSw3v5Yqyvr

Screen Shot 2017-03-22 at 18.40.13.png

4. BRITISH - I need a bit of speed...

5. JAPANESE - Well, of course...

I will be back when i have time to finish my list and spend my £100K.
Reason- I couldn't afford the insurance so purchased the SRi instead.
However- this GTE has just turned up 30 years later and it's affordable. Mmmm?
