I was just about to put a link up to that same seller.  The touch-up paint I have for the Zed didn't come from there, but I also bought some from there (about three and a half years ago) and it was the same kind of thing and just as good so I'd recommend then too.

The alternative on ebay and where the Zed's paint came from is a seller called Car & Bike Touch-Up Paints, who are based in Sittingbourne - yes, Kent. :D

I've found the Kentish seller --> http://www.ebay.co.u...W-/132053251798

As much as I'd like to support them for being local, they charge nearly £3 more for half the amount of paint so I think I'll go with the Enniskillen one.

Thanks folks :)

Having been party to try and get a match to my paint code at a professional paint mixers where they showed me at least 12 different shades of the one Nissan code, how do these eBay peeps choose which shade to get made up?

I'd say it's probably pot luck - just like when you buy the paint from Nissan.

So isn't it better to go to the professional paint mixers (there'll be one near you), with the car, and get them to make up a small touch-in pot or spray can?

I asked about this at my local spray shop (which I have used twice now) and the minimum they can buy is half a litre. This makes it expensive as a touch up source.

Its not the sprayers you go to, its the place they get their paint from. The one in Reading (Caversham actually) made up a spray can for my 350Z Brembo calipers for about £2.50 but that was a few years ago!

Sorry if that sounds abrupt Jeff, but the sprayshop has a vested interest in spraying the "whole panel" and their paint buying terms are probably negotiated on minimum quantities in line with that whole panel business model.

In my experience, the paint supplier (and formulation mixer) is often receptive to providing much smaller quantities and seems to like the challenge of "getting it right".  And I'm fairly certain that's where the eBay sellers will be getting their paint from - they may even be the same companies. And of course, anything that Nissan sells you for their Japanese manufactured models probably gets shipped from Japan and priced accordingly.

And lastly (for now!), metallic colours will need base colour, metallic layer, and lacquer in their kits (at the least). Another good reason for Nissan to give up selling these!

I've had a few grey & silver cars over the years, so now I've got a small collection of grey & silver colours. I find that if I mix them carefully in a lid, I can often get a shade I'm happy with. I know this isn't helpful to most people, but it may give someone food for thought.

Thinking about it, the only reason I went with the Kentish one this time around was they had Night Blue in stock while the Enniskillen one didn't. :)

I probably should have thought about a local place that can mix it to match my car.

Hopefully this will be close enough.  As I've got vinyl protection on the front it's only for a few chips around the wheel arches and one on the passenger door.

I'd hope you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you get from the ebay supplier.  The Night Blue for the Zed is obviously a metallic, and the match I got is as near as I could ever wish for.  I got a Toyota Chilli Red from the Enniskillen supplier, which was a non-metallic, and that was more than good enough too.  The instructions were crystal clear too, particularly on the point of shaking the bottle very well before you start. :)
