Nissan has begun customer deliveries of its new-for-2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, ahead of the car’s debut in various GT championships this year.

The Japanese manufacturer recently put three of the cars through a shakedown at Fuji Speedway, with Masataka Yanagida and Michael Krumm handling driving duties.

“Basically we did a function test, checked all of the systems, [like] ABS, traction control, and made sure the car is as we developed it,” Krumm said. “The car is ready to go.”

While having made its competition debut in a VLN round in September, the car will be seen in multiple championships, including the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and Super GT, this year.

RJN Motorsport will enter at least one of the new cars in the five-round Endurance Cup, with a single Pro class entry having been confirmed by SRO Motorsports Group earlier this week, while GAINER is set to field two new Nissan GT3s in the GT300 class of Super GT.

A two-car effort from KCMG was also recently confirmed for Blancpain GT Series Asia.

“I hope to see many of the GT-Rs in the GT3 class worldwide,” Krumm said. “My hopes are that it will preforming right at the top of the championships, so that’s what we’re hoping for.”
