No cat videos, :(  but just ordered a centre pipe and back box for my 350z from toyosports off ebay.......   only a couple of hundred quid for a resonated stainless set.

Was going to treat it to a custom made replacement, but a little skint due buying another house, so we shall see how well it doesn't fit

Well fitted it Saturday morning, no real issues, the hanger for centre section was a bit out of position to the cars hanger, a few small adjustments and its on. So spent the next hour of so cleaning and spraying a bit of waxoyle on W bracket that's showing some surface rust, but nothing really. Proves not using cars through our winters does preserve them.

Oh and the reason I swapped out the oem exhaust....... well it wasn't rattling baffles as thought, as on cleaning the underside, I discovered a couple of fairly large stones loitering on the top of said W brace....... At least I've still got an ok oem exhaust if this ones too noisy. lol

The OEM exhausts usually fracture around the joints on the backbox - mine did, like many others - so I can see why you thought as you did.

A new exhaust is like a new lease of life for a car though, and a great excuse and opportunity to have a rummage around underneath. Particularly when your findings are good.

When I first bought her, the flange had come adrift on back box, so had to remove it and 'welderup', in fact it was the very point that got me a few quid off the car when I went to buy it :-)

Just to conclude this. I went for the Scorpion in the end - preferred the look of it and found more moans about droning relating to the Cobra.

Really happy with it - I think there are better options out there but for my purposes great for the price.

(also had a new mohair hood fitted- fantastic job on this but not cheap - they managed to remove the annoying rivet that was left in the frame from a previous strap replacement which rolled to the other side of the car every time I went round a corner, plus one of the cables was replaced leading to less wind noise with the hood down!!)

Just need to get out and make some noise now!!!

Had a new mohair roof fitted last year, place in manchester did an excellent job too, except I think I may have a stray rivet in the frame somewhere
Can I be cheeky, I see your car has the wheels coated black, have you got any pics I could see side on as its something I'm undecided about to do to my bronze roadster too.
The ones on mine are the standard import 17's, but I'm leaning towards obtaining some Rays and having them refurb'd in either a dark metallic grey or black.

Personally I love the look, but have taken it a step further with a sticker

I'm sure I've worked it out before but can't seem to see how I add a picture?

Thanks for going to all that effort mate!!!

but it has certainly helped my decision, going to have my original wheels (unless I pick up a set of Rays for reasonable money) redone in a very dark grey or black, apologies for copying you

No problem
I remember having the Matt or gloss dilemma and am pleased I went gloss
There are quite a few nice looking aftermarket wheels around but I was nervous my insurance company would try and clobber me
Think yours would still work well though
