If you want to kill a few hours, these videos are a great watch.  This one is for a crash damaged 370z rebuild project, there's loads of others out there that are so interesting..  I've watched a 40+ part one for a rolled Lotus Evora and currently watching one for a 458 Ferrari.  All crash damaged and rebuilt and restored. Interesting viewing.

This is what happened when I lost the rear end. It all happened so quick. The only injury that I suffered apart from my pride was friction burns to my forearm from the airbag. 20180825_155842.jpg 20180825_155851.jpg 20180825_155851.jpg

That would have made the heart beat!

I must say though, if you plan to cut the car in half a cutter is better than a street lamp.

Holy sh!t, that looks horrendous!  So pleased to hear that you were ok and that you didn't have a passenger on board.  Any idea what speed you ended up impacting the lamp post?

As I wasn't looking at the speedo just before the impact lol. I'd imagine that it would have been close to 20mph. It impacted on the weakest part of the car.

Thanks for posting this   Something to watch when I'm on the train :)

The American's seem to love picking up cars with fork lift trucks.  It winds me up because they damage the underside.

Q) How can you tell a US 240Z from a non-US 240Z from a quick glance of the underside?

A) The front chassis rails on US cars are bent - because they were all forked off the ships...

Im still scared of diving the new 370. Its a psychological thing. I have a old corsa as a run around which I feel more comfortable driving. I have only driven the Z No more then a total of 250 miles in 3mths☹

It looked like a standard articulated trailer with a clever adaptor on the massive tow truck to me.  I don't think you can get one of those for the Z

I imagine I would be the same for a while.  I'd recommend a day with someone like CAT Driver Training to have a proper play with the car in a safe environment with great tuition so you feel at ease with it again.

^ Great Idea.  Both Cazza and I did a CAT day a few years ago and it was money so well spent.  Learned so much and you get a chance to put the car safely in situations which you hope to not have so you know what it will do.  SO much fun as well 1:1.

I think I would be the same confidence wise.  But in time you will get it back, I haven't had the car snap at all ( the stability is evil) - so I think you were very unlucky.  At least you bought another one.

Thank you all for the advice to get my confidence back. I will wait until the weather gets better before I start using the Z a lot more. Because at the moment the back on this just slides out without much acceleration. Its got Michelin's super sports on with 6mm rubber. Why its tail happy is confusing me. My other Z wasn't as bad. I might change the rear tyres for something that are, wet Rated A

Has your new been tuned with UpRev?  Mine has and I've got different maps I can change on the fly - going from one that feels like I've an elastic band fitted to the accelerator pedal (great for poor weather) and at the other extreme being a nice sharp pedal.  It might be yours has UpRev and is set to an aggressive throttle map.
