This has got to be good news for the segment we all love surely? Come on Nissan, the buyers are out there, we just need the new Z!

That's good for Toyota - it re-enforces their decision to build it. I suspect the BMW will be a good seller as well.

Nissan seem to have missed a trick here, by being a bit lethargic? Let's hope they get their timing right with the new model.

You'll have to bear with me while I go lightly off topic but it'll come back on point.

My RS3 is 3 years old in a few weeks so have just booked her in for the MOT and fluid change. Now much as I love this car, at 3 years of ownership it is the longest car I've ever owned (testiment to how good it is). I just get itchy feet and like to try different cars so usually keep them about 2 years. So that is where I have found myself these past few months, considering my options.

Several members know that I had been toying with a GTR and still was up to very recently. I'm keen to get back in teh Nissan fold and love the car but for me it would be a daily drive, which I know is very do-able in a GTR but I would be looking at a 13/14 plate out of Warranty and I would probably need to compromise other things in life for the running/maintenance costs. Despite this, the devil on my shoulder still keeps saying - do it!

So having made the above decision, the itch is still there, so I've looked at other cars - I've no real interest in Porkers, I respect them as a car but they are over priced in my opinion. I've also looked at slightly modified M2's and I love the look of them (with a particular carbon kit) but in reality it's not giving me any more performance over the RS3 (yes, it would probably be more engaging on spirited drives with RWD/Chassis combo but I would rather own a car that is better 95% of the time in the real world, not just when I have some fun).

That finally leads me back to the topic of the thread because I think what I'm going to do is get my RS3 tuned by APR (should give it about 430-435BHP) and save my pennies. Then, when (and hopefully not too far in the distant) Nissan finally get their backsides in gear and announce the next Z car, as long as it's appealing and has the right engine, I'm highly likely to be one of the first to get my name down B)

Come on Nissan - they've got to announce something this year on the 50th Anniversary surely!?

(Bit of a long post but it was like a mini councelling session for me )

Wow, is it 3 years already?  It seems like yesterday mate.

You'll just have to put up with 430+ BHP for the time being then!
