Originally my 350Z service intervals were relatively easy to understand: P1, P2, P1, P3 then repeat.

Then the Ps disappeared and a Gs arrived but I've never been sure whether that made it: G1, G2, G1, G3 and repeat?

However we now seem to have "Minor" and "Major". I'm assuming that means the cycle is: Minor, Minor, Minor, Major then repeat? This would make sense because we quite quickly discovered that the only difference between a P1 and a P2 was price!

But does anybody know if my assumptions are true?

I'm not sure... I thought mine changed when it reached a certain age / mileage but maybe Nissan changed the service plan and I missed that.

My 2016 370z has the following sheets stuck over the top of the original sheets (it's an automatic)...

Hope this helps?

It looks like Major, Minor, Major, Minor, etc., which almost tallies with Nissan's original P1, P2, P1, P3.

That's interesting Geoff. I'd agree with your summation except that a P2 was the same work as a P1 - they just charged more for it! So it would seem the dealers now get an additional income stream with a major every two years in place of the P3 every four years.

Now where did I get the G1, G3 information from....

Mine seems to have had the same basic (cheapest) one each year for all of the 5 services so far apart from one at about the 2nd or 3rd which was £100 or so dearer. But it has only done 19K so wouldn`t expect it needing anything major (expensive) yet.

It was actually the P2 & P3 that were identical, so the 'new' system (minor, major, minor, major) is just a simplification of P1, P2, P1, P3 - but it's basically the same as it's always been.

Just checked my Warranty / Maintenance book and you are indeed correct. I must have been under a false premis for the last few years! Interestingly the periodic maintenance also has intervals for Spark Plugs and at 10 years "inspect air bag system". Bet they haven't done that...

I've also found where I've seen the "G" numbers. It's in my GT-R service record, even though the book says Minor and Major !! Looks like my current one's history is: G2; G3; G2 + Drivelines(!); G3.
