Can't believe (well I can I suppose) that they haven't managed to get a tyre sorted that has a bigger window and allows them to push. It's not like this has been a short term issue is it!?

Looks like LH needs to get another championship before he can get to the next level of SPOTY and honours recognition.

It'll probably end up being cancelled because trying to squeeze it into an already tight (and long) schedule just won't meet with the teams approval I doubt.

This one's rumbling on....

Helmut Marko has said Christian Horner should sue the FIA for 24m USD which is the amount Red Bull would have received in season prize money if Ferrari had been penalised for its (probably) illegal engine.

Though sounds like it would be a hard one to prove, and therein lies the problem if the FIA can't check the compliance of their own rules!

So... how do our F1 fans feel about the first 5 races (at least, including 2 at Silverstone) being held without fans attending?

John my view is when you watch F1 on tv you don’t really take notice of the crowd during the race, but the celebrations after won’t be the same and I do enjoy the programme Sky do on the Thursday for Silverstone where the drivers do different things in front of the fans.

Football is different that needs the crowd.

If we can have one of my favourite sports back on tv safely for all those involved race team members, broadcasters and especially the volunteer marshals at the side of the track that would be a good thing but these are strange times

Playing football you need it.  Both to inspire you and to kick against.  Silencing even a small home crowd when you were playing away, particularly with one single action - be it a goal, a tackle or a save - was a brilliant feeling.  Just thinking about it now makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

From a viewers point of view it's probably something we don't see or realise a great deal, but I bet the teams and in particular the drivers will miss the interaction with and influence of the crowd.  I have no doubt they would rather have the crowds and the atmosphere.  However, if it ensures F1 continues I would be prepared to accept a few races behind closed doors, but I think the racing will be a slightly poorer spectacle.

I will miss the crowd but accept its better then nowt. I guess I'm biased because I've had first hand experience of being part of the crowd and even marshalling in the 70s at British GPs.
Plus the fabulous experience of being in the crowd at Suzuka in Oct 2018 - thanks to Jnr for organising!

The way it's been reported elsewhere suggests, as I and I'm sure many others suspected, that he won't be in red next year.  The bigger story is probably who is going to replace him: Sainz, Ricciardo or Hamilton?  That will generate a lot of column inches for the remainder of the year, which is probably a good thing for the sport until some form of F1 returns this year.

As for Vettel, he might fit in at McLaren as a replacement for Sainz if he goes the other way.  Or Racing Point/Aston Martin, if Stroll Sr will put his hands deeply in his pockets.  I feel that a slight underdog team, with a smaller number of staff but a lot of promise might suit Vettel better.  If they'll have him.

That said, supermarkets are even more on the look out for staff nowadays.  And I'm sure he could bang trolley wheels together quite well.

I can't see Hamilton anywhere but Mercedes again next year although I'm sure there is a lure to drive and win for the Prancing Horse. And you have to ask whether Vettel would want to drive for a 'lesser' team - by all accounts he's a very proud man - would he swallow that for the enjoyment of racing as you say in a team with less pressure and a chance to outperform the car?
