It should be a pretty permanent fix! Lots of threads on this - search and you'll be reading all day and get no work done!

Just had mine MoT'd & saw this too late. I've just asked & I'm told they did test it on a rolling road. What are the likely consequences ?

Scrap that, panic over - checked again & I'm told it says VFI or something which means the rolling road wasn't used (& they did offer me a copy of the form to prove it). Hopefully this is useful as it shows that garages can show which method they used.

One small problem

Don't let your car ice up (especially the driver side window) in the bad weather if possible. I did once and the window wasn't able to come down the fraction it needs to and miss the bodywork.

They should just be done under warranty if the car is under 3 years old mate.

yea its a 54 reg so should be fine touch wood. i know they like to get out of things like this and as ive put new 19s on they want to put up a fight. cant really get out of it, the nismo wheels are 19s and come straight through nissan as an optional extra.

Had my 04 Zed for a couple of month now - started to notice a few irritating issues that should not be occuring on an 18K Car. Took my Zed to Benfield Nissan in Gateshead with the following list.
Rays Alloys - Corrosion / Bubbles
Bose Stereo - Left Channel distorting and CDs skipping
Wiper Attachment Arms (The bit that disappears into the bonnet recess) corroding badly
Boot wont stay up.
Rear Parking Sensors - Intermittant
Dulling Paintwork (Black).

Here's what they did.
Replaced the alloys
Replaced the stereo head unit and an amp
Replaced the wiper arm to motor linkages
Replaced the boot gas struts
Fixed the rear parking sensors
Flattened and maching polished the whole car.

SPLENDID - ASK AND BE CONTSTRUCTING and NISSAN SHOULD HELP.

Best Regards - A Happy ZED owner

Nice one Gary :)

Glad to see that Nissan sorted you out and that all the problems you reported are known issues here :)

Chubbers!

How about adding a note to the MY03-05 section regarding the GT4 (or GRAN TURISMO 4, or 35th Anniversary Model) having the MY06 Rev-up engine?

(and Zedicide - When you have no Z to drive!)

I've just updated this thread to include the very few MY'06 and MY'07 'common issues'. Let me know if I've missed anything/got anything wrong.

I'm sure I've said this before but the skipping stereo problem applies to non-GT units as well as GT-pack BOSE units. Both my Zeds have done it, though I've never bothered to have it fixed as I normally play MP3s off my phone using a tape adapter anyway.

No problem mate - 80% different engine (from 296bhp up to 309bhp), bonnet bulge to accommodate new engine, illuminated ignition switch and a couple of new colours - other than that they're the same. I'll add it to the main list too.

Back to the boredom now ;)
