Marc Duez (Belgian race driver) is organising another circuit day at Spa Francorchamps on Saturday 28th of October. The organisation is top notch. The cost for the event at Spa Francorchamps is 175 EURO for the full day (6x20 min sessions) or 125 EURO for a half day (3x20 min sessions).

It's a good opportunity to drive on one of the best / most beautiful circuits in the world, and with the 3 driver categories there is something for everyone.

For GF's, wives, who don't want to do the passenger thing - there is a very nice Spa center in Spa :blackeye: with various pools, sauna, haman, treatments etc.. so you can treat the mrs whilst treating yourself

As an added bonus, the Nurburgring Nordschleife is open to the public all day the following day, plus the Monday afternoon, so you could optionally go along, and either enjoy driving it, or just watch the vast variety of metal from one of the nice famous corners. The museum at the Nurburgring F1 track will also be open if that floats yer boat. Nurburg is 1 hour 20 mins (driving along very nice roads) from Spa.

More details here in French: http://www.marc-duez.be/testdays.html (if anyone needs help or has questions - let me know!)

I will be going, and it would be nice to see some of you there!
Have fun !

I went to Spa on the Marc Duez day last year and can totally recommend it. It's awesome :blackeye:

I don't think I can make it this year due to work commitments  big shame.

Will any of the RX8 and Notre350z boys be going Chris?

Is 6x20 minute sessions average for a full day :blackeye: doesn't seem like a lot, especially on what would be a new circuit for me.

6, twenty minute sessions is plenty IMHO

You'll be knackered - physically and mentally

I only did 3 sessions last year as it was my 1st ever track day.

I learnt the track from watching videos of Regis (from Notre350z) wizzing round in his Zed, so when I got there it wasn't so scary :blackeye:

Yeah - it's a shame you can't make it damo - it would be nice to meet up again, plus I'm sure you'd love to try out your new brakes at les combes or the bus stop chicane right!

There will be some RX8 guys going - Baphi will definitely be driving at the ring, but probably just spectating at Spa.
Have fun !

I agree - 6x20 min sessions is a lot (and you are not obliged to drive all of them if you don't want to).

Basically you drive 20 mins, then let your car cool down for 35 mins (which it will thank you for), and then go and line up in the pits - ready to go again. Even if you go to an open pit-lane day, I doubt you would spend much more than 2 hours on the track.
Have fun !

I would love to do this but from what I understand, the ring isn't for the feint hearted at this time of the year which is putting me off a bit. I suppose as long as you're driving within your own limits all will be fine, it's just knowing where those limits are.

Mmmmmmmm..................Eau Rouge. :blackeye:   :boxing:

Dont believe the hype - weather conditions at the ring are so unpredictable its untrue! I was there 29th October last year, and it was glorious weather all day (pic on the right side of my sig)... I was also there in August this year, and it chucked it down with rain... so who know about the weather? However, if it is raining - it's very slippery, but if you keep your head you will be fine. In any case, going to the ring is not obligatory just because you go to Spa, and if you go to the ring, it's an experience even if you don't drive it! If you booked now, you could probably at least get a ride in the ring taxi.
Have fun !

Spa Francorchamps circuit will be closed from beginning of november until july 2007 for modifications related to it's return to F1... so this will be the last chance to drive there for a while.
Have fun !
