Ladies and gentlemen ........ unless the powers that be tell me otherwise I believe as regional co-ordinator for the Midlands area I am perfectly entitled to do this ........

Does anyone want to have a crack at this fantastic job for the next twelve months ????????

Before you post up, there are a few conditions ...........

:) You have to register you interest before the 1st of December 2006

 The vote will take the form of an on line poll which will run from 1st December until the 31st of December this year. ( I haven't decided if it will be restricted to the Midlanders only or opened up to the whole of the membership to vote  )

 While you don't have to be a fullypaid up member to stand for election, it will be expected that once elected you will pay you 12 months subs if not already paid up for 2007

 You should only stand if you consider yourself to live in the Midlands (this should also prompt someinteresting debate :o )

:) The job is taken on the understanding that it is a 12 month gig and that elections will take place this time next year if someone wants to hae a crack at the job.

All that being said ...... I have really enjoyed my year and will happily do another one if no one fancies having a crack.

While I'm on my feet ...... thankyou very much to that band of Midlands die hards who have organised, supported and attended events throughout the year.

Ok people, Afreemason is asking if anyone else would like to take over the reigns of regional co-ordinator for the Midlands. If you would like to put yourself forward, or if you would like to congratulate Glyn on his work this year then please do so in this thread. Anything else could you please take elsewhere.

Glen
Don't wish to steel your thunder or good work over the past year.
I certainly will be supporting all of your ventures (as far as i can) over the next 12 months and where i can assist in arranging one or two meets as we did (DJ350Z and i) the other month.
Keep up the good work.

Cheers Rich & Baldie ........ listen, I'm more than happy to step aside and let someone else have a crack.

The way I was thinking of playing it was that I wasn't going to stand whatever ....... either someone else would get the job or I'd retain it through no one else standing. I believe whole heartedly that at this level within the club no one should get precious over the RC jobs ..... the more new blood and ideas the better. ;) :surrender:

I thought Glen was ok-ish, but my vote for Midlands co-ordinator would go to Glyn!!!

Seriously though, me & MRSDJ350Z have had a great time this year making as many Midlands meets as possible. Looking forward to more of the same in 2007 (hopefully in a new Z!).
Thought the frequency of events was about right.

Must try to get to more National meets next year. Looking forwward to meeting up at the Ace Cafe next week.

You've done a stirling job this year, Glyn, and I know you have been very busy with the move, work & Freemasons. Well done.

Dave.

PS. How about having a meet up between Christmas & New Year?

Thanks for those kind comments guys it's been a pleasure and you've all been a fantastic bunch, it's a pretty boring meet if you're on your own and I think we've had a great first year and all made some great friends in the process

I must admit on Saturday I was all set to sell the zed and buy a bland twin cab following an unplanned weight reduction experiment involving my spoiler, a roll of gaffa tape and a fence post ........ but I've come to my senses and although I'm very shortly going to be at least £750 poorer I'll be keeping the zed which will be making a reappearance cleaner, louder and more looked after than it has been for quite a while !!!!!!

I'm not sure if Sarnie or Kev were going to stand for this job or not ....... they posted a suggestive smilie but that was about it (and they got lost when the thread was cleaned up after one of my all to common hijacks ..... comes to something when you hijack your own thread eh  ) So guys, speak now or forever hold your piece (not a typo guys  )

On the meet front I think a meet between Christmas and the new year would be a great idea, or if people's diaries are too busy maybe mid January ?????

Lodge is getting under control know, I may even be mistaken for someone who knows what he's doing soon and we're nearly through the worst of it from a house point of view ....... so I should make a better fist of things during the next few months failing any late candidates ........

........ talking of meets ....... I think I'll start plugging some of the lodge socials on the site in case anyone wants an excuse to meet up or experience some of the mysteries of freemasonry

Look out for the post in the Midlands section ......

Err no....

Let's just say that it would not be popular with some. Also not sure I can could really dedicate the time mate.

You've done a sterling job mate, and you would have my vote to pay an even more active part in the OC if you were able to.

PS: Keep me in mind for an Xmas meet. Love to meet you all again and hoping to take some holiday at Xmas. It's an hard life being self employed...
