Hi guys ..... I'm being a bit cheeky here and shamelessly plugging our socials in the hope that some of you may feel you want to come along and try something different or find out a bit more about freemasonry.

A bit of background first ..... although regular lodge meetings are closed affairs for the members only, not unlike this club, we also have open social events where anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. They're probably much like social events in any other organisation such as round table and golf clubs. It's usual that there is a ticket price to cover the meal and whatever entertainment is allocated for the evening and typically a raffle or some other way of getting a few quid out of you in aid of whatever charitable cause has been chosen for the eveing be it masonic or non masonic.

The thing with these types of event is that in order for them to be enjoyable for all and raise money for the cause in question they need to benefit from the support of individuals. As with everything these days Freemasonry is suffering from declining numbers and in order to continue the good work that has been done over the years we need to reach a new audience, not necessarily people who want to join masonic lodges but those who are prepared to come to the social events, have a good time and spend a few quid on raffle tickets or the like to support the charities.

So that's the general sp ........... I'll take advantage of this thread to tell you guys what we've got planned and if anyone is interested then post up or pm me for more details.


Saturday December 9th ........... 'Old Style' Family Christmas Party
Santa's grotto, games and quizes, traditional Christmas Scoff and finishing off with a few Carols.
Start 5pm at Masonic Temple in Edgbaston. Adults £16, Kids £10.

February / March ......... Quiz night being planned.
We're aiming at cheap and cheerful, say £5 per ticket, bring your own booze and fish and chips from a local chipey

Saturday April 21st ............. Spring Ball
Girlies get to dress up, blokes in DJ's, 5 course dinner, 80's tribute band "A Kick up the 80's"
Starting circa 5pm finishing circa 1pm in Edgbaston, Brum. Tickets tbc'd but circa £25-30.

This is kinda the flagship event for the year and is the last event of any real consequence during my year in office ........ and then it's all over ....... not to be repeated ...... so if you want to support anything, this would be a goodie !!!!!!


March / April .......... Golf day being planned

June / July ........... Summer Garden Party being planned
Guess who's house is going to be used for that one then !!!!!!!!
