  1. Petrolheadonism Live are delighted to launch its annual premier event in the grounds of Knebworth House; this must see family spectacular will bring some of the world’s most exclusive and desirable cars to this epic weekend to celebrate all things automotive! This is a potential new addition to the calendar as a club event but I for one am very interested, especially when last years website here makes mention of a £50 Million+ Hypercar enclosure. If you like your automotive exotica, this could be the one for you! (I'll post up the link to this years event when it's up) It would be great to get a club attendance at this event, so if you're interested, please let us know and I'll start a list. 1. Neutreus - Nissan GTR - Saturday 24th - Show ticket purchased 2. Scott R 3. ChasGFL 4. Gasitup 5. John_K - white 370Z Nismo v1 - Show ticket purchased for both Saturday and Sunday
  2. The EO, our esteemed chariman, will be along at some point to update this thread with details of this years event but to whet your apetites and give you an idea of how great this event was last year, here is the description from Brize for 2021 and a link to the pictures and reports at the bottom. If you are interested in attending this year, feel free to post up. We have been invited to participate in the Motorsports section of the above event. To give you a flavour of what it's about I will paste in their invitation. Please see below the blue script for registration information. Please see my post below concerning allowable vehicle types - Jeff-W. Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to start by saying thank you so much for agreeing to be a part of Royal Air Force Brize Norton’s Families Day 2021. We are very grateful to have you joining us and having all your wonderful vehicles on display really is quite a spectacle, especially whilst parked alongside the largest aircraft in the RAF’s strategic transport fleet. I just need to remind you of a few points, and detail some information for the day below so please do read through carefully. Those of you who are MDs, chairs, and organisers for your clubs and companies please pass this email on to all of your drivers. What is a Families Day? For those of you who have not joined us before the Families Day is a chance for all the serving and ex-serving RAF families and friends to get together to enjoy a wonderful day out. It is a chance for us to give back to them and say a big thank you for all their support, patience and understanding of the roles and responsibilities we fulfil all over the world on behalf of our country and Her Majesty the Queen. The event will consist of a funfair, static aircraft displays, a fly past, a parachute display, food stalls, traders, an open air concert in the evening and a ton of other entertainments and festivities. Being part of the Autosport Display you will get exclusive access to an active airfield and will be parked on the 99 Sqn pan alongside the UK’s strategic transport fleet and various other static aircraft. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get access to an active military airfield, park alongside some of the most iconic transport aircraft of the modern era – the C-17 Globemaster, C-130J Hercules, A400M Atlas and Voyager; plus also be part of a day that brings happiness to thousands of RAF personnel and their families. Reports and pictures thread from 2021 Attending: 1. John_K white 370Z Nismo v1 2. Budbongo. 3. Jeff-W - Jaguar F-Type R 4. Mrs Fred - 370z Daytona Blue 5.
  3. If you haven't heard of the Silverstone Classic, it's a packed 3 day event with Classic Motor Racing events every day, exhibitors, stalls, car clubs, live music in the evening and so much more. You can attend on one, two or all three days and for full details on their webiste, click here At this point, I am looking to guage interest - are you already booked to go (I know at least one member already is and I'm sure will post up) or wanting to? For some reference, here is the thread from when John & Les attended last year. If we get the numbers, the aim will be to get a club stand which the last time I attended, was right in the inner section of the track.
  4. All welcome to join us for a coffee and/or breakfast at AV8.

  6. Hi, do you fancy another meeting at Kemble /Cotswold air field in June😁
  7. EO Jeff_W. Link to the Thread.
  8. Further to the thread created for an event at CAT in October here, I have started this thread so that those interested in attending a Performance Driver Track Day in May next year can post up or ask any questions, including those that may have done it before. Please note that these events are for MEMBERS ONLY as CAT discount the prices for our club. So if you are a non-member and are interested, please PM Chilli Red (Club Secretary) to find out how to become a member. I would add that the benefits of membership go way beyond these driving events of course. If you'd like to know a little more about what the day would involve, the thread with our recent feedback/pics is here and the overvew of the day from CAT is below: There is access to the 5 unique circuits at the renowned Millbrook Proving Ground, a venue that is not normally accessible for 'track days' and the general public. Activities designed for the different circuits are: • Learn threshold braking from high speed on the Mile Straight • High speed driving, potentially to the maximum of your car, on the banked circuit of the High Speed Circuit • Drive the demanding Alpine Route circuit with its hills, and variety of corners from hairpins to long and sweeping • Take on the tight, twisty and challenging Handling Circuit • Put your car through its paces on the open spaces of the Steering Pad/Mile Straight Apron An instructor will accompany you on all the circuits, and the objective is to teach you how to get the best from your car and develop your performance driving skills in a controlled environment and at a pace you are comfortable with. Short presentations in vehicle dynamics will help you to understand the relationship between driver input and vehicle balance and control. From this comes the appreciation of how to safely drive your vehicle at grip limit within the controlled confines of a track environment. At the end of the day, your new found skills can be put to the test in a timed shoot out around a gymkhana-style course laid out on the Steering Pad/Mile Straight Apron. I'll list those that post up or PM me as interested below (please note that it is a maximum of 6 Members on a first come, first serve basis: 1) Budbongo 2) Jeff_W 3) Scott Robinson 4) Kimbo (Mrs Budbongo) 5) 6) Reserves:

  11. The MOD days are back! Having not been held for a couple of years for obvious reasons, by kind permission of our hosts, Sarah & Tony, a Mod/Detailing day will be held in Chobham, Surrey on Saturday, 16 April (Bank Holiday weekend). What is a Mod Day? If anyone fancies just a free breakfast and a natter, or some help fixing something, then a Mod Day is the perfect setting! If it's your first mod day, then don't be shy; we are a friendly bunch and are always happy to see anyone & everyone. What a Mod Day does is let us put faces to forum names, and also ask all the questions we never got to ask on the forum!! You can just lean on the garage door and watch others busy at work whilst drinking tea and eating if you don't want to do anything else. There is always lots of Zed expertise at hand. The Owners' Club Detailing Team, OCDT, will be there, armed with all kinds of polishers, waxes, sealants, cutting compounds and screen protection kit (rain repellent). Minor scratches, holograms and swirls in paintwork sorted for free! Doors open (metaphorically speaking) at 10am and we go on until the last person leaves, so you can pop in at any time for as long as you like. Late arrivals run the risk of missing out on the slap-up brekky. Please post up if you can make it, and someone will add your name to the list. 1. Neutreus 2. Blobbish 3. John K 4. Jeff-W & Mrs Fred 5. Cray Z (Provisional) 6. Gadget 370 7. Zulu Nation 8. ChasGFL 9. PaulW

  13. After another challenging year, it appears that we are not quite out of the woods just yet, but hopefully we are all learning to live with this virus and you and your families are keeping safe and taking care. It is my sincere hope that 2022 will be a bit more normal than the last two but as a committee, we will continue to follow government guidelines and ensure that our members and users safety is at the fore of any events we organise as a club. We all want to see a return to the norm so with that in mind, it is both my and the Committee's plan to start getting some events organised in the hope that they are able to proceed. Based on the survey I held recently, I know there are a mixture of feelings towards events depending on the size, venue etc but to that end please use this thread for exactly what the title suggests! Please post up/discuss any ideas in this thread and whether you are willing to get invovled with or organise said idea. Any events agreed to as a Club will then get a dedicated thread to discuss details and will be added to the Club diary/calendar (I will add these once the first event has been confirmed). Thanks and here's to a 2022 where we all hopefully get to meet up safely and enjoy each others company and motors. Neil.

  23. The above was a Members Only event attended by some very lucky members yesterday. They will be along shortly to share the background of this event and some very interesting pictures and topics.
  24. With the last of the organised events for the year taking place this Saturday, it seemed a timely point to start a conversation about 2022 (yes, it will soon be here). As a Committee and for me as current Events Organiser, we're very interested in your thoughts about attending events. We've all been through some big changes over the last 18 months and I'm sure there are still concerns for some. What I'm interested in therefore is twofold: Whether you are likely to want to attend events next year ? If so, what sort of events are you looking forward to? I'm hoping that there will be a continued return to some sort of normality in 2022 and it would be great to have bigger attendances at some of these events to catch up with friends old and new.
