Mark
cheers, called today, £850 plus vat for front. is this about right?? and is it worth the money?? also are there any similar products around?? You can get other makes, and even a smaller kit by paintshield, but you only have a small portion of the bonnet and wings protected and you have unsightly lines on the panels. Full Paintshield covers bumper, full wings and full bonnet and is as near as invisible......I know it's painfull, but it keeps your car looking superb for life. Some people argue that repainting is easier, but your car will degrade with scratches and chips very quickly until you get to the point you can take it no more and go for paint, film is complete peace of mind, for behind that big lorry that's spitting out stones for example, I wouldn't be without it

puerto
good question matey?? i presume the paintwork is given a propper going over before they apply the film so it should in theory look great, but as for actually polishing the film, would it actually be neccessary?? or would a good shampoo and sponge bring it back up?? anyone have any ideas??? Paintshield
good question matey?? i presume the paintwork is given a propper going over before they apply the film so it should in theory look great, but as for actually polishing the film, would it actually be neccessary?? or would a good shampoo and sponge bring it back up?? anyone have any ideas??? You can wash and Wax it in the usual way, you should treat it in the same way as you would your paintwork, with the following caveats No rotary or orbital polishers Not Truckwash (known as TFR's in the trade), these will etch your paint if left on to long and attack your brakepads, so its best not to use them on film, you can but over time due their caustic nature they can attack any film. No Tcut or equivalent otherwise all regular waxes and shampoos are fine Yes we prep the car before installation Cheers Tom Quote Please don't Pm email or call 01476 592777 www.paintshield.co.uk
Dash
Hey Tom, Long time no speak. I for one can say that Paintshiled is certainly worth every penny. It makes washing and taking care of the car so much easier. Tom have you considered an all over kit for the Zed yet

Simon.
This Paintshield whats it like for polishing/waxing afterwards? Bloody awful, I mean take a look at this http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k226/Wolf823/TemperO/Image2.jpg this http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k226/Wolf823/TemperO/Image1.jpg or http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k226/Wolf823/350z/DSC00270.jpg or finally this http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k226/Wolf823/350z/Dash.jpg I have to admit that I have had both my Z's Paintshielded and I would do it again (infact, I just booked it in for the full FULL kit). A Pair Of Flabby Wings
This Paintshield whats it like for polishing/waxing afterwards?Give it two or three weeks to fully cure, and then wax and polish away as often as you would have done ordinarily. You'll certainly find, as Dash has said and as I was advised on the day I had mine done, and as I've since found, that cleaning dead insects etc off the Paintshielded panels is much easier. It's also a much smoother surface to apply wax etc to, and so it goes on, and buffs off, a little bit easier. The best advice I think would be not to even drive the car on the road before it's done. Mine was nearly two years old when it was done, and therefore had the odd small chip, which I subsequently wish I'd had touched up before I went. I also wish I'd hired a truck for transportation purposes. Still, you live and learn, and it's covered and looks great now.
A Pair Of Flabby Wings
I had the front bumper, front third of the bonnet, wing mirrors and wheelarches done. Here are the pictures: the first one post shampooing; the second one post a quick waxing. Therefore from most angles, and from normal viewing distance, you can't see a thing other than a nice smooth gleaming finish.
