TBH they probably already know more about you than you think because of activity on your credit card, shop loyalty card, locations your cards are used, numberplate recognition, etc.

Oh, and posting on the internet - especially social networking sites.

If they collect all our data online then that should be enough.

Paul do you know if the site gets spied on ??

I'm sure we get spied on by a few (Nissan for one!) and probably others too.

Google & alike can see 'User' access but 'Member' access is secure from internet bots but, of course, this doesn't prevent individuals (or individuals representing company's) paying up and reading our posts.

Still, it does give us all another go as putting down our religion as "Jedi" ...

:P

I always list my religion as Jedi, have done for a few years!

The amount of information they already have on you is immense. Your credit record for one!

Even if you buy a car with cash, your then offered gap insurance whether you take it or not it is reported to the FSA who then record that you bought a Nissan 370Z on **/**/2011 for £33,000, they also list it reg number, which then leads back to your address, etc etc etc.

Unfortunately, info about you is recorded all the time. The census probably doesn't tell them too much that they don't already know!

On the plus side I have traced my family back to 1587, much of it from census info!

Regards,

Buster.....

Nothing in norfolk yet. I am feeling a Jedi knight comming on

I heard the other day someone encouraging people to tick 'not religious' if that is the case. I'm not sure if it's an option or whether they were just trying to make a point.

Got mine today, filled it and sent back.

Not too bad, religion is a voluntary option.

I thought the idea was we all sat down on Sunday 27 March and filled them in together? Or am I wrong?

Must admit I didnt see anything in my copy that I haven't seen in all the others I've had to fill in for the past 95 years, a lot worse happens in other parts of the Globe.

For those who think that it is intrusive, it's a fair point.

Information collected can't be used for anything other than statistical analysis, ie HMRC can't get their paws on it.

If you just want to be left alone, what better way is there to determine the needs of a particular area, with respect to how many hospitals/doctors/nurses/physios/schools/policemen/firemen/binmen etc you need? Just for starters?
