LESmo
They stick over the B Pillar mate - its a piece of Fibre glass cut to size with a Nismo badge on the front, the rear is adhesive - which you have to get right 1st time then you have to do it all over again... They took probably 5 minutes each side, I used paint cleaner on the existing ones - which had started to show a few swirl marks from cleaning, - I have to say they are silly money for what they are - but they do finish the side off, and sort out the fact there is nothing on each side to say it's a Nismo. The front sticker at £2.50 still is the bargain though 1 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button. LESmo
Thanks - They are from Japan Colin. I bought from the same guy in Japan I bought the Kick plates from. They have some currently - but they are not the cheapest thing on earth. But they do honestly set off the side of the car and to be honest I was happy with it. - you are looking currently at £170.70 for both sides + Delivery. Takes about 2-3 weeks from order to the UK http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-NISMO-Nissan-Fairlady-Z-Z34-370Z-Genuine-Pillar-Garnish-Carbon-Fiber-2pcs-/251788553271? They are proper NISMO Parts - so you might be able to get them cheaper. Nismo Part Number # 7689S-RNZ41 http://www.nismo.co.jp/products/catalogue_2014/#page=289 Really easy to fit - just stick over the existing ones, just need to use paint cleaner or similar to get rid of any polish/wax. They are like concrete on mine now after a couple of days. LESmo
Does it slide up and down slightly - if so pin is snapped. There are two slider pins as well. Its not a cheap bit of plastic. Probably cheaper to just have it stuck on and then it won't move again. Both mine are stuck now, as both have gone. 1 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button. C8NNP
Thanks Les. Sounds like what the problem is. Hopefully Nissan will sort it, be it by sticking on or otherwise. Not very impressed being as I don't drive it that regularly and take really good care of it.
LESmo
I had the same, I think the Cold weather did mine in last winter the plastic got brittle and cleaning it once the middle pin snapped. The design is off - it has two sliders and one pin the sliders can move up and down a little - which means the only bit that will break is the plastic pin in the middle. I was happier when I looked on the US forums and found loads of people with the same fault. Its not covered by warranty - as I checked at the time mine broke. Stick on pads last only so long - then you have to attach it with glue. 1 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button. C8NNP
Thanks Les, very helpful as always. Sounds like a DIY job in that case then. I was going to use sticky pads but not the best solution from your experience. Can you remember what sort of glue you used as I'll prob do the same. Many thanks,Pete

LESmo
Hi Pete, I am about to undertake the glue experiment. One side I have padded twice and it won't hold. The other side at the moment is holding with Pads - only reason I can think is the side that is not holding is not sheltered and is getting rained on much more. I ordered something last night to Glue it and I am going to give it a go as soon as I have it - hopefully this weekend. I will let you know the outcome and what I used. I cannot keep sticking it down with Pads. It lasted about 6 months on the first pads, the latest lot I put in a few weeks ago and they have already lost stick. The Nismo ones are nice - trouble is they stick on top of the black ones. So the problem still exists - I need to sort it once and for all. Its doing my nut it. 1 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button. C8NNP
Cheers Les, please do. I'm toying with using sticky pads as an interim solution but thinking that the pillar won't then fit flush. However, probably need to do something before the weekend as have a bit of distance to travel and don't want it to come off completely. Good luck and let us know how it goes! I just now need to upgrade one side to - this is never going to ever move again. I figure if it has to be removed something has driven into the side and the glue on the side pillars would be the least of my issues 1 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button. LESmo
Morning, Ok Pete - Glue on its own didn't stand a chance - I stood holding it together (as I didn't want to tape my pillars) and after half an hour - it was no where. So I thought a hybrid approach. I got 4 rear view mirror fixing pads from the petrol station and a £3 small tube of no more nails. I have liberally spaced the pads on both side and the top and squeezed a good dollop of no more nails in the gap from the top. Held it for 20 minutes. That ain't going anywhere. The pads are holding it tight while the glue sets fully. That's it. So if when the other side goes again - I will use the same approach. 3 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button. Paul_S
Nice work Les I guess you need to be very careful not to get the No More Nails on the face of the cover. I imagine it's a nightmare to get off! Edit: I suppose if you're concerned about getting on the face of the cover then you could put masking tape over the front to protect it. LESmo
Thanks Paul, I took my time as well, from start to finish and allowing for the fact the first idea didn't work I spent 3 hours on it. Glue is great unless it ends up on your fingers or anything else you don't want it on. 1 Quote Current - 2014 (14) 370z NISMO in Storm White #229, JDM Carbon Nismo Kickplates, JDM Carbon Nismo B Pillars, Nismo Tyre Caps, Nismo Oil Cap, K&N Filters, MY15 Nismo Start Button.
