Q60S Driven

Q60S had been driven on Pistonheads

400hp, 4wd for 46k good value?

I think I need a test drive. Max torque is produced much lower down than the GTR, these will remain as rare cars in the U.K. But am worried about the mass, non twin clutch gearbox, electric steering and residuals.

I like the look of it and I think a test drive would be very interesting :)

I'm very pleased they like the 3.0 V6 TT. Now, lets start seeing some concepts and artists impressions of what the 370Z replacement might look like with that engine under the bonnet (manual please!)

That is a massive discount!

I liked this quote:

I wonder if this foretells the new Z car underpinnings. G35 = 350Z, G37 = 370Z, G60S = ?

We got a massive £15k off the retail price of out Inifniti. They are keen to get them out there that's for sure.

Where is it Paul, I know when we spoke before there weren't any local to you.

Looks very nice, is it a red one you are looking at?

So here is the brochure --> Q60_MY16_UK.pdf

Just from the brochure and the review I've a few Pros and Cons:

Pros

Engine

Trick 4WD (l like the idea that power is heavily biased to the rear wheels but 4WD is there if you need it)

Interior tech (Infotainment system, etc.)

Mechanical tech (adaptive dampers, etc.)

Cons

No manual option

Wary of the steering (needs a road test for sure!)

Runflat tyres

I think the red looks great but it's a £1K option!! If the blue is anything like Jeff's 370Z then that would be nice (still a £600 option though!), the odd yellow colour might be OK for me too but I wouldn't be brave enough to buy one unless I'd seen it first. The various whites / greys / blacks do nothing for me although a nice pearlescent white like the 370Z Nismo might work well I guess.

If it's possible to get a discount like the ones quoted above then it would make it very temping, but it might be a case of jumping too soon if there is a 370Z based on the Q60s replacement on it's way.

My nearest dealer is Maidstone but I seem to remember someone (paul_k) saying something about them not being a 'full / official' dealer...???

No Maidstone aren't. Reading is his nearest. Infiniti are always quick to point out to me that Maidstone aren't actually 'official dealers'

They are the FGBarnes Group. I don't know how long it will be before the Q60s becomes available for a test drive but I might be tempted to pop along and put some miles on one for them!

Another negative - it doesn't support Android Auto or anything like it. That's a bit of a downer. Someone I work with has a new Corsa and that does!

Had a good read of the brochure

Liking all the crash protection options and memory settings from the key

But see they have moved the flappy paddles to the steering wheel

For some reason I'm struggling to really like this car.

Deliveries are from March

I know what you mean Paul. In a way I'm quite excited but there is a list if things I'm not very keen on.

On the assumption that the 370Z replacement is based on this car, I wonder what they would change on the basic mechanics, if anything.

I definitely want a drive of one in March though :)

Have the dealers got a demo you can try? I take it this is a car for Sally? What does she think?

I've only seen the 2.0t on dealer websites. Not that I've been looking of course :innocent:

You reminded me of their decision to put a cassette player in the 350z Bose stereos. Someone at Nissan can be a bit retro sometimes.

Spoke to Infiniti Reading (well after a 2 hour wait...)

They are saying that March deliveries will not happen on the 3 litre variant.

They will not get a demo until April next year with first deliveries July so will wait till then.

I also asked why the 3 litre has 245 wide tyres when the 2 litre has 255 wide!

From what I've read elsewhere (Oh God, now I'm reading the Q60 forums!) I believe the Q60S has the same 255x40xR19 tyres as the 2.0t version

I don't think so...

I have fallen in love with the VR30DDTT engine though and I'm beginning to think I need it in my life. I'm not yet convinced the Q60S is the right package for me and I'm seriously hoping the 370Z replacement is on the horizon.

Actually, something struck me today - the Infinity Q60S is basically a modern day Nissan 300ZX. Both have a 3ltr V6 twin turbo with 2+2 seats.

Seems a well specified vehicle, typically Japanese, the only extra you need to consider is the paint job. Just a shame about the delivery schedule.
