This major rebuild project on a 350z. This month there has been continued work to area's of corrosion and cleaning up the chassis ready for painting. John found lots of road grime under the plastic protection cover's at the front corners of the rear wings & after cleaning the grime out he found that the metal underneath was rusty! Well rusty was an understatement, as he pushed a scriber through the metal without any difficulty at all! John decided to investigate & cut out some steel to inspect the inside of the rear corner. Well the pictures tell the rest of the story. Before moving on to fabricate new sections. The rear end of the sills have been coming along well having removed all the rust out having stiffened up the jacking points and straightening them the previous owner to John was ham-fisted when it came to jacking the car, so John has drilled a few plug weld holes & welded the lot together also opened up the sills at the rear to let any water out when the car is washed!
